I'm thinking Sabres finish season with 4th pick, then the Lottery moves 2 teams up so they end up picking 6th.
Cozens at 6 would be a tremendous result with me.

Way it seems to be settling, tier 3 (picks 3-8ish) has around 6 players. So, comes down to true talent evaluation. Find Elias Pettersson. Find Matt Tkachuk. Find Mikko Rantanen.

1) Hughes
2) Kakko
3)Turcotte/Cozens/Zegras

If we fall to 4th or 5th pick select whoever is left. Podkolzin has shown he can be a superstar when playing against his peers but with his very poor stats with his club teams in Russia playing against men, and his rights being held by SKA St.Petersburg, that could be buyer beware with him in wanting to take his time coming over to NA.

Similar for me

first- 1 time
second 1 time
third 0 time
5th 3 time
6th 5 times

Looks like 5th or 6th is the average.....

I don't see this

playing in the MHL he put up 8 points in 12 games with much older players
killed it in the U18 tourney
held his own in the U20 tourneys, at 17
in the lower scoring VHL held his own quite well with MUCH older players

biggest knock, would be lack of continuity as we are basing his production on 3 games in this league, 12 in that, 14 in another league

just because he didn't click on 3 games in the KHL is no reason to think he won't turn it on in the NHL

they could fall to 9th if they win their last 3 games and then slide further back after the lottery

it's important that they drop at least 2 of these 3 games

Is Hughes projected to be better than Eichel and Matthews?

So what’s the take on the Podkolzin kid ? Is he worth the risk ? Seems to me that eventually they ALL want to play in the NHL at some point.
- Pairo11

I wouldn’t touch him if I was the avalanche sure because I have enough superstars if one doesn’t come over

We can’t risk a draft pick not coming over imo
