I'm all for keeping Bratt and Hischier together as a line for next year. Maybe test out Bastian on the right side and see if his size helps the Bratt and Hischier duo. Maybe Zacha can turn a corner and play center (again) with Hall and Palmieri.

If the Devils get the 1st pick, where would you put Hughes? Shift Zacha to the left, Hughes in the middle, and Bratt on the right? Or just have Hughes skate with Hall and Palmieri. Forming a 2nd line of Zacha-Hischier-Bratt?

If the Devils end up with Kakko or Podkolzin, I would have them skate with Coleman and Zajac. At 4 they should go for Byram or at 5 if he's still available.

The more I look at it, Miles might be the odd man out.

Had NJ 1 on Tankathon today... I'd still pick Hughes at this point, but possible WC tournament will throw that opinion up in the air. I guess U18s too but I hope the two get invited to their WC teams and play decent roles. As was the case two years ago, Matthews had 9 points to Laine's 12, continuing the conversation until draft day.

I actually liked Laine over Matthews then. I still like Hughes over Kakko, despite Kakko having a pretty successful world juniors. Hughes was playing a bit banged up. Hughes sees plays develop like no other player in this draft - having Hischier and Hughes as a one-two punch would put NJ one step closer to contention: they'd still need a legit #1 D (and no, it's not going to be Severson).

Kings and devils should be worried about catching Buffalo, in all seriousness. If buffalo comes within 2 in any of their remaining games, it's an upset

1st time seeing the new jumbotron. Its big, but lovely. Zacha keeps trying to hockey. It's endearing. Finding it hard to root against our boys in person. My brother and I are surrounded by rags fans. A nice family behind us. A stiff 30-something yr old in a dress shirt sitting next to his father.. both look like they'd be miserable even if the Rags won the Cup. To my right is a dapper older fellow with a cane. It was nice to see him crack a smile when the rags scored. The arena and entertainment aspect seems improved since I was last here 2 seasons ago. Its going to be nice to have a good team again someday. I feel like they're more than just this off-season away unfortunately. Hopefully Nico and Zacha take another step forward.. To being at least 70 and.. 30 point players.
