if he plays like he did this year in the defensive zone.. yes he need to be better. if he improves and he's somewhat responsible in his own end and scores 90 points I've got no issues with that... nobody is questioning jack is the best player on the sabres, nobody is saying we aren't happy about his point improvement, but you cant honestly say he not somewhat responsible (like everyone else on the team) for what happened this year. he can be better, we need him to be better as the captain.

Sure can he be better in his own end. yeah.. OK I will agree but its not like he is horrible. He is a -14, seeing that we like to compare Jack with others, Leon has 104 points and is only a + 7, Mcjesus has 114 points and is only a +7. To me that is not very impressive either....

woo boy. Just read one of my first posts from today. To summarize, every player needs to be better, and at least 5 need to be replaced. Excluding Okposo. But if you were to make a list of the top 3 problems on the team, I don't think anyone can come up with a legitimate reason Jack belongs in that top 3.

Well he's playing PK minutes so I would say yes he's getting pretty good at it.

I will say this. the 4th leading scorer on your team should NOT be an 18 year old Rookie defensmen. Even if he is suppose to be a "generational" player.

Botts has a lot of work to do. We should expect playoffs next year. That's a lot of trading, releasing, UFA signings and internal roster changes with current AHL players.

OEL is 2nd, has 44 points, which is 3 more than Dahlin. The key here is balanced scoring, which the Sabres have zero. Shut down Eichel, shut down the team. It's so easy, and so embarrassing.

nobody thinks your the bumhole. I want the same things too, I wan them all to be better including Jack. i never said he gets a free pass. Jack could score 150 points on this team and we would STILL not be in the playoffs.

IMO Jack is not even close to the problem on this team....

I could not agree more, you can't win unless you have balance. Edm is proving that right now.

Look back to 2006-2006 coming out of the lockout. for those 2 years we were the one of the most balanced scoring teams in the league and we were outstanding...We rolled 4 lines that could all score. We have 1 line that can score now. Like you said easy to shut down...

Yeah, sure. McDavid can be better too. Who cares. The roster sucks and you're busy bashing one of our only useful players. He's problem number 27 out of 30 team problems.

look all Im saying his jack get some of the blame here, to totally dismiss any blame he has just because he is the best player on the ice is crazy... I've said over and over everyone need to be better, from jack though the entire roster... half of which doesn't belong on an NHL roster, a coaching stuff that has lost the room and has no clue on how to put lines together. to management that had a major turnover last offseason and are damn near worse than last year, and regressing quickly.

Botts greatest error was not replacing ROR with a competent 2nd line C. Even expecting Berglund to fill that was outside of his abilities. I know we as fans don't know how the trade market truly functions and fluctuates daily, so I'm sure it's extremely hard to unload guys like Bogo and Okposo.. but Risto had value last year and you need to hope he still has that value. Scandella was better last year as well and severely regressed. So now you have Bogo, Risto and Scandella all providing negative impact. Then you have Dahlin, Pilut and Montour, who all three aren't exactly aces in their own end, despite providing overall positive impact to the team. Add in the combined dumpster fire of the pointless bottom 6 and you're left with...
