I think if I really wanted to make a change in the offseason you need to go way beyond Phil and Risto. It wouldn't surprise me if 23 is someone that they dangle in the hopes of getting someone a little more dynamic.

Maybe we just have dumb players?
- Powerslave

yeah...I can get behind that, somewhat...so why complicate things by having dumb players play a system they're incapable of comprehending?...where has it led them after four years?

just pointing it out...when Housley's fired, it will be two "x's and o's" coaches in a row canned
- Michael Pachla

"coach killer" Jack. Fair or not, that might be the label. I know it doesn't really mean anything, but it stood out to me in the post-game presser when Jack kept calling him "Phil", not "coach Housley" or "coach Phil". But he does seem like a guy who'd say, "Call me Phil. ::chomp chomp::"

Asked about justifying bringing Phil Housley back for a third year and why:

Terry Pegula: "Yeah. He's a young coach. He was a great player and I think he can grow as a coach."

- Powerslave

Terry's not a great public speaker. Housley has very little experience. He had, what? 4 years in the NHL before becoming a head coach? I still think he has to go, but people are hammering Terry on the "young" part when he obviously meant "inexperienced".

https://buffalonews.com/2...ousley-treated-like-crap/ "I still hate him. I fight Tie [Domi], but it's not as if I hate him," Ray added in the story. "I played with Phil Housley and he treated me like [crap] while he was here. He's someone, to this day, I still hate. He showed you no respect and pretended that he was 'the man' and never gave you a chance as a young guy to fit in. I have a problem with that guy."

I've mentioned this about Phil, and referenced an unwillingness to adapt to your personnel, ala Rex Ryan coming in here and trying to take the best defense in the game and change the entire scheme. It's like, WTF.

(not that the Sabres were good before he got here, and Phyllis doesn't have the horses, at least defensively, he had in Nash, but stop w the square peg in a round hole crap)

I hope everyone who shows up for Fan Appreciation Night REALLY likes those Jack Eichel bobbleheads. And the discounted concessions should pretty much smooth everything over.

No, I'm not hammering on Terry. I will never hammer on Terry. He saved this franchise from uncertainty. (we're certain that we're bad 😂, but we're also certain that we're not moving)

I was just pointing out that it was Terry, not Kim who said that.

I have not one time Heard an interview with a buffalo player that spoke positively about Housley..I know Not every player loves the coach but I don’t see any support from the players for him, even some of the most hated coaches seem like they had a few players from the team. I don’t think Housley ever had this team

terry should be held in high regard for saving the franchise...however, all of this from regier/ruff to the tank to phil and everything in between is on him...it seems as if he's trying to run the sabres (and bills) like he did his energy company but it's a totally different animal

time to send these kids back to Rochester, before they catch something here....

Idiot hockey management...

- gordong

if the coach is going to play scott wilson and okposo double the time he plays nylander, why keep the kids up here

why call nylander up, he is producing in the nhl yet now that olofsson comes up, the kid is buried on the 4th line

why not bury okposo or wilson on that 4th line
