Idk what’s happening in Winnipeg but they have been terrible the past month. The blues are within 2 points of winning the Central.
- Pegullaville

Hard to believe with all the locker room problems they have there bc of you know who
What a cancer he must be

Lets assess this in 2 years and you may or may not have the same answer. You also forgot to mention we are picking top 5 this year as a result of this as well and that player alone could impact this team more then any of the aforementioned players that were moved out or acquired as a result of that trade.
- Pegullaville

Is it fair to count that as part of the trade though?
Yes, it did happen
But it was definitely not the intended result

I'd rather take an 18 year old future core piece over the 27 year old that is already declining.
- Pegullaville

Looks at O'Reilly's stats, having a career year. Only on hockeybuzz is that declining.

Ummmm....
this has been his best season ever
It’s utterly ridiculous to say that

So you'd rather have O'Reilly than Dahlin, then?

Actually, I have to thank Ryan. He helped us get Dahlin.

Looks at the Draft date and the O'Reilly trade date. Yeah this is sound logic on Hockeybuzz.

Florida is 20th and 10 points ahead.

Ryan O’Reilly (and almost every single player outside of Crosby, McDavid, Kucherov) is NOT worth 5 wins or 10 points in the standings.

We’d still be where we are

1) never said that

2) makes no sense- we could have them both right now

3) that’s not at all what my post was about-
It was that it’s utterly ridiculous to say ROR is “already declining” when he just had his best season ever

You ROR haters are freaking bonkers

In theory...

But one guy CAN have a trickle down effect on the rest of the roster- good or bad
And he doesn’t necessarily need to be on Crosby’s level

Looks at the contribution that O'Reilly made to this team last year to ensure they finish dead ass last to give us best odds at picking #1.

Very sound logic.

Move along.

Never said I was a "hater".

What's bonkers is that you guys can't seem to move forward. Get over it.

Looks at his contributions to StL this year

Would think ppl would now FINALLY realize that Buffalo sucking wasn’t his fault

Remembers that common sense just doesn’t apply to MANY on here

I get it, this season is aggravating, but with O’Reilly and even with Kane and Lehner we aren’t a playoff team.

How do I know? They were literally (frank)ing here the last three years with the same other core pieces.

O’Reilly would be 29 next year with us trying to just make the first round. Moving on was the right thing

Maybe take a break & try back later?

Again.

He's gone.

Get over it.

He was on a LAST PLACE TEAM HERE. What huge difference does he make this year that he couldn't seem to make the previous 3 years?

You guys think he turns into Mark Messier all of the sudden. He was a loser on a LOSING TEAM.

Yeah but would you want Ryan O'Reilly on the team if it cost you Wayne Gretzky? Think about that.

Maybe come back at 4am and talk to yourself like you do every night.

He's gone. Adios. Only in Buffalo do we pine for the past instead of moving forward.

Could be

But these ridiculous comments like,
“He’s already declining” are just dumb

And trying to STILL blame him for us sucking is equally dumb

It goes on & on

StL struggles out of the gate...
“It’s RORs fault, he’s a cancer”
Even though he had an amazing start

And for u guys who talk about Analytics all the time...
Corsica has him ranked the 15th best Center in the league
And I’ll bet all the other sites have him Top20 as well

But the hate just keeps flowing

The Blues had 44 wins and 94 points last year

On pace for about 44-45 wins and 96-97 points

Man O’Reilly turned them into exactly what they already were, while having a career year.

What. A. Player.

So now he’s a WINNER on a WINNING TEAM

Shows he could’ve been part of the SOLUTION
and wasn’t part of the PROBLEM

Again... logic eludes you

I'd sell every player not named
eichel
dahlin
skunk
montour
at the draft

keep kids and prospects, pilut, casey, stinklander, olofsson, etc, etc, etc

sell every freaking one of them and get them the hell out of here
