And these are the points I'm making.

Thank you.

No, they aren’t

“So you would rather have O’Reilly than Dahlin?”

That’s what u started with
And it’s just plain wrong on multiple levels
1- i never said it
2- it wasn’t an either or, we could have both

Somehow u just don’t get it?
Hate on though
Whatever makes u happy

The Blues had 44 wins and 94 points last year

On pace for about 44-45 wins and 96-97 points

Man O’Reilly turned them into exactly what they already were, while having a career year.

What. A. Player.

It’s totally his fault that others have struggled
He’s MORE than done his part there

Did EXACTLY what YOU said he couldn’t...
AND U STILL CANT ADMIT U WERE WRONG

Is your hate really that strong that u can’t give credit where credit is due?

But please...
tell us more about the amazing AHL sniper we got for him

So now he’s a WINNER on a WINNING TEAM

Shows he could’ve been part of the SOLUTION
and wasn’t part of the PROBLEM

Again... logic eludes you

- jdfitz77

They couldn't have a player with the largest contract in team history telling the world he "lost his love for the game." Period. He wanted to go and we were happy to grant his wish. The press would've been 100x more brutal if they kept him than they already are now. You make a good statistical argument, but you haven't once acknowledged this fact. He had to go, it's that simple.

Ummmm....
this has been his best season ever
It’s utterly ridiculous to say that

- jdfitz77

9 points in his last 17. He had the best start to his career ever but he’s coming back down to Earth.

So how come you don’t feel this attached to Robin Lehner? Who is also having a career year on another team?

That’s actually not true at all

MANY, MANY times i said,
“I was ok trading him...
as long as we got a good return”

Then i blasted the trade bc it sucked for us
And had to listen to ppl tell me that,

“Tage is an A level prospect”
-yeah, sure he is

“Sobatka will provide much needed depth”
“Better to have him here than one of the kids (who aren’t ready)”
-then ppl clamor all year for the kids to be brought up

And my personal favorite...
“Berglund is fast”
and
“He scored 17 goals in 57 games”
Etc, etc, etc
-never mind the fact that we were trying to make a 3rd line LW play 2C...
remember how that worked with Leino?

And then I’ve had to listen to ppl bash ROR all year long...
instead of just admitting that he’s a really good player

Today’s ridiculous quotes about him that make no sense:

“He’s already declining”
“So you’d rather have ROR than Dahlin?”

Just wow... like come freaking on

And again...
i said I’d be ok trading him for a good return
We absolutely did not get one

Maybe that’s the best deal that could’ve been made?
*i don’t think so, since it’s been reported that if we paid the 10mil then the return would’ve been better

BUT REGARDLESS...
1) the trade still sucked
2) now we are trying to spend all that Cap $$$ we saved with him, on getting another 2C

How come you’re changing the argument like u ALWAYS do?

To answer your question though...
Lehner stink here
ROR did not

Pretty simple

Could be

But these ridiculous comments like,
“He’s already declining” are just dumb

And trying to STILL blame him for us sucking is equally dumb

It goes on & on

StL struggles out of the gate...
“It’s RORs fault, he’s a cancer”
Even though he had an amazing start

And for u guys who talk about Analytics all the time...
Corsica has him ranked the 15th best Center in the league
And I’ll bet all the other sites have him Top20 as well

But the hate just keeps flowing

- jdfitz77

No one is blaming HIM.

Yet he was a HUGE part of this team for 3 years and we were terrible. Historically bad. Why do the O'Reilly lovers over look that?

My point? He's gone. Yet people keep bringing him up daily. Actually, HOURLY.

St Louis is going to have an almost identical record to the previous year, yet he's the second coming.

Seriously?
That’s a ridiculously small sample size to fit your narrative

That’s like saying Scandella is a better scorer than Skinner bc he has more goals recently

You’re better than that

Doesn't matter who brought him up.

You thinking that this guy was going to make some HUGE difference was part of the issue.

Thank you, Ryan O'Reilly for helping us get Rasmus Dahlin. Enjoy St. Louis....until you whine your way out of there like you did the previous two teams you were on.

Ah, so basically you don’t care what his results are on a better team with better coaching?
