Keep the Blues pick under 20 and Anaheim gets the SJ pick. Gotta feeling we're trading the Blues pick if we keep it.

No sense of trading unless deal makes sense. Can get another good player with that pick.

Amerks 4 Laval 2 Final

Tage- 2 goals and an assist

Amerks have 5 players with 20 goals this year, last time they did it was 2000-01.

Syracuse lost. Good night for the Amerks. Just 3 points out of 1st with a game in hand.

Oh I agree, decent players to grab there-Seider, Lavoie, McMichael, Robertson. Just a gut feeling he'll move it.

Oh please dude you act like you wear a hard hat to work everyday. That whole "blue collar" mantra is so played out. I want good players and good teams not a bunch of whites dudes that "bring their lunch pail to work"

You didn’t here ? He’s a bust already. He almost matched 20 games of AHL Nylander in one night

Oddly enough, Nylander matched 20 games of NHL Tage in one night.

Which is preferable?

(I thought Nylander would bust. I'm watching more carefully. I hope Tage proves me wrong, too.)

Good point. Obviously NHL production matters more. However if Tage adds 20 pounds and gets some confidence I think he can surprise some people.

Not considering what we gave up for him, we need all the help we can get... Not a huge fan of either player but would be very happy if they both turn out. needing 2 less players is something we could desperately use going forward.

Lehner was not great last year and I predicted when he left that he would win a playoff game before the Sabres would. A few laughed at the idea and said I was crazy. Still people complain about how bad he was last year, yet neither goalie we have now is doing any better (minus the shootout competence. )

The biggest problem with this team is no one understands what to do in the defensive zone. Our forwards are absolutely horrible at this and are probably responsible for 60% of our goals against.

All the hate on Risto is not fair. Nor is the goalie criticism. Both are hung out to dry on a consistent basis.

I was and still am an ROR fan and wish he would have worked out here. We need that type of player.

ROR, Kesler, Bergeron... that is what we need.

I am pretty sure Housley will be back, but we need to bring in a hardass assistant who will teach these kids how to play 2 way hockey.

I'm of the firm belief that we should've kept O'Rielly and added just as you said. We would've had a one more year looksie. I also think maybe we could've gotten equal or a lil better selling him as a rental, or sign n trade this year.

Imagine the wonderful problem of slotting the top 6 anywhere in the top 6 and getting production. That in itself puts Casey on line 3 and the 4th line set as this is actually the 1st year I like Larsson's play. Girgensons another casualty of misuse and bad coaches. I believe under Q, Torts, V, he would've grown into a solid 2nd liner.

If we had ROR I think we would've been enjoying some much better hockey as players slotted higher than their talent would've been properly slotted. We would've gotten to see hockey like we haven't seen since my hair was brown.

L1 REINHART-EICHEL - SKINNER, L2- OKPOSO - ROR - RODRIGUES. L3 POMMER - MIDDLESTADT - SHEARY. L4- GIRGENSONS-SOBOTKA - LARSSON. I think that's better than have a Tage in the line-up.

Momma said "One person can change things for many others". I could've lived with 1 more year of ROR.

Everything that happens with the Sabres, my buck stops at ownership. Ownerships failed us, the people responsible for the payment of players and management.

When Ken Hitchcock was available we decided to stay with bargain basement ss kregies gm's and coaches. Thats been the consistency, coach in and coach out. And that's the result we got, basement hockey.
Terry's not afraid to make bold moves in his business ventures, a sports team should be no difference. If it's not good for the team let it go, go get the proven g.m. , go get the proven coaches when available.

If Wowwee gets another good ole Nichols try, I'll ..... I'lll........

Ryan O’Reilly on the 2018-19 Sabres

Scores his usual 50-60 points

Doesn’t help atrocious goaltending.

Wastes another year on non-playoff team

Value dips even more

Gets traded for a 2nd rounder and cap dump this offseason.

- sbroads24

Mostly speculation
Especially what the return would be for him
Why would his value drop if he did the same thing over again?

And this whole convo is just insane
How much has Tage’s 12points helped?
How much has Sobatka’s 13points helped?
Yes...
Tage actually has LESS POINTS than Sobatka
And do i need to bring up the speedy Berglund?

COMBINED... those 3 have about half the points ROR would’ve gotten here (even if still used incorrectly)

But yeah...
let’s diminish the 60ish points O’Reilly would’ve gotten

Rags AND Wings both win, good results for the tankers.
Sabres now holding 5th, real chance they could slide down into 4th especially if the Wings win the upcoming game between the two.

I never thought realistically they would sink this low. Very disappointing Year of Transition, as it was a complete failure on so many fronts. They transitioned from 31st to ?27th?, while playing like the 31st for 7/8's of the season.

Well, there is always ne t year, or the next year after that, or the next...

I agree with every part of this. I suspect the team will be asking themselves exactly the same questions they did last year, and they’re going to have to come up with something more than just being vulnerable for one another. That obviously poop the bed.

Sabres without ROR: Top 5 pick, additional mid round 1st pick (STL)/Brandon Montour.

Sabres with ROR: Would Probbaly be picking in the 12-15 range.

The Sabres essentially gave up ROR for the right to select top 5, and 18th/19th or Montour instead of keeping him and selecting in the 12-15 range.

Sabres with the king of hockey, ROR, finish dead last, last season. Secure rights to draft what could possibly be a legit franchise defenseman.

I guess we should have kept him. Probably could have drafted Hughes.

Damn you, Botts!
