Enzo, Think the AVs will make a splash in the free agent market this summer? I see on cap friendly that even though they have only 12 on contract next season, they will have about 36M in cap space. When they sign Hughes they have 13 players and 35M in space. Figure some guys on ELC contracts so they have 5 spots to fill and 30M in cap space (maybe 2M less to reserve for Hughes' bonuses).

Good for Gus putting up the points, its lining his own pocket down the road, but if he was playing for a coach like Barry Trotz instead of Beer league coaches and system, I don't think he would have the points and would be free wheeling like he does. His ass would be stapled to the bench for some of those nonchalant bone head plays he makes in the defensive zone.
As far as him gettin 5 mill, let someone else give it to him, he'll be 29 when he can be a UFA.

It should be clear by now there are some guys that should never play OT 3on3 - one of them is Saad. Saad doesn't seem to grasp the importance of puck possession in 3on3 and he plays the same way he does in 5on5 which is to bull his way to the net and more times than not lose possession of the puck - love it when he does it 5on5 - not good when he does it 3on3.

Rantanen is due for $8mil + but You’d think Sakic wants to add with that kind of cap space

Do teams get an exception so they do not have to protect rookies? Because then Chicago delays the NHL start of many prospects. A good player will be lost, however, no matter the prospects.
