You guys aren't hockeybuzzing right. - Elbows15
Yeah, should be gloomy. Hell, it's easy to be negative and gloomy when the team doesn't make the playoffs two years in a row. The really talented gloom guys were able to do it while the team was winning two Cups in three years, with a Western Conference Final in between. That takes special talent. |

UMass dominating Notre Dame and Avs prospect Cole Makar looks like a future #1 Dman. Avs will add Makar and Hughes to a playoff team next year. Rantaben is 21 and Mackinnon is 23. The Avs time to contend is around the corner. |

But if he waives, they don’t have to protect him - and can use that protection for someone else.
I think. - StLBravesFan
That is what we want.
It will oribabky be costly no mattet hiw it all evolves. Hiw cistly is the question that bothers me since i hate to pay a really heavy price to keep the players we especially want to retain.
However it may be an overiding issue for Seabrook regarding where he resides because he is not going to miss the money - he gets the dollars one way or another as long as he reports to play. As long as he is here perhaps he would accept a player coach role and when he plays it is 16 or even 12 TOI.
It is difficult to imagine he would finish the year or two on a loosing Seattle team and playing little. That would bother him who knows maybe less though than if he did not want his family to uproot - meaning they stay in Chicago while he plays in Seattle.
We loose if we trade a top prospect and a #1. Maybe we have to work out some sort of trade and then they turn it around and send him back. I could imagine they take a good prospect and the #1 that draft year or following draft season.
It gets tricky if somehow Seabrook retires then is paid the exact money he would have earned for a scouting job. The scouting job being for the term which remained on the contract. The NHL may or may not have a problem with subterfusion? Tell yiu what: i get a headache trying to figure out how the Seabrook affair could be less painful than it appears inevitable. |

True Grit's favorite team having a rough night. Gave up three in the first, and are down 5-2 to the Caps. And Hedman left with a head injury. |

Caps could be tough on them, too. But they're the favorite, imo. |

That soft, lazy, “me” player Panarin with 4 points in a must win game vs Nashville. Panarin + Zibanejad are going to create some amazing offensive entertainment in NYC |

First one in like 2 months....lol
Caps need wins, Lightning just to stay healthy.
Couple big saves by Holtby in third or they may have come back in that one too.

It’s an huge gamble by Chayka. IF IF IF Schmaltz adds muscle, recovers from a blown out knee to retain his best trait..skating, and learns to shoot more to evolve into is a 70 point center... deal looks great. He has 105 career NHL points in 179 games = 58 points per 82 games. If he stays soft/weak, loses half a step, and is a 50 point center....ehhhhh
Man $6 mil just doesn’t go too far anymore in the NHL. Even more reason to sign both Cat and Strome , if possible, this summer. Another 35+ goals from Cat next year and he’s $8mil +. |

Last time they played the Caps they gave up 58 shots, but won. They're favorites, but not bulletproof. |

Wrong. They traded for a 3rd pairing Blackhawks defender so they are guaranteed to win the Cup.
Kempny with Caps, Daley with Pitt, and now Rutta with Tampa.

I don’t see how teams can continue paying second liners over $6mil and ice a complete roster?? The cap MUST increase significantly, and soon, with the contracts being handed out. Otherwise, will continue to be a bunch of guys who belong in the minors playing simply bc they are on an ELC.. |
