Sabres fan here...hoping the Sabres slide into the top 4.
Sabres need a 1RW to slot in with Eichel, could Cozens be that guy?
I am hoping so given that Eichel and Skinner (hoping he resigns) are very effective with zone entries, so no worry there. My estimation is they need a guy to bury the biscuit and and strong board work to that line, to bring some physicality.

Like I said, I don't think he'll do a ton of the creating at the pro level but he can score goals so could be a nice fit alongside someone like Eichel – kind of like Skinner has been.

What does everyone think Shero will do in off season with free agency?...stand pat and hope for continued growth from younger guys or are we due to look at acquiring more scoring depth or Defense help through the FA market?...really curious if people feel we will remain quiet on that front considering the year we had!

Hoping Eberle is in the mix as an affordable add and secondary scoring. No one else (of any real help) will sign here.

It's just about impossible to do less this offseason....

Matt Loughlin told me that Ray Ray kind of regrets standing pat last offseason, but he expected some players to continue to develop and maybe some help from the minors from guys like Q etc. Sort of a see what we have year.....But at least that's the company line.

My (conspiracy theory believing self) opinion is the owners don't want to spend Richard until the 'right time'... and the right time is when you'd rather throw money out the window then put it in your pocket; to them. We are a small market team now. Something Lou Lams or Dr. John McMullen didn't do to us....

All of which is a shame because the Rock is making Apollo Group big bucks.... Last I heard they still hadn't paid the State of NJ for closing down IZOD Center. (frank)ing thieves.

If NJ doesn't get a top three pick and end up 5th or 6th, they should ignore the WHL completely and go after Zegras or Turcotte. I wouldn't be angry if they ended up at 7 and took Broberg despite his falling stock (dude can still skate like the wind).

Krebs has one stat that sticks out... -50 lol. It's CHL so I won't take it seriously, but goodness, how do you get -50. Is the team he's on that horrible? Those be some Phil Kessel stats. I wouldn't compare him to Barzal either: Barzal was a center and plays center now. Maybe Krebs has potential - won't burn on him for playing on a bad team - but I think Turcotte and Zegras are too attractive to pass up if NJ don't get top 3.

I honestly really like Turcotte and think he might be a steal.

I think for most high picks nowadays it isn't so much if they are ready in terms of physical abilities but more so what their role in the NHL will be and if a team wants to burn that ELC year right away.
