Michael Jordan is a terrible owner as another example.

Not quite fair to use the NBA or even MLB as comparisons. As much money he has, his pockets are not nearly as deep as the traditional owners. Charlotte Hornets value is about $1b or 28th in the league. Both those sports are all about who has the most money. Just for comparison Golden State at $3.5b is 3rd most valuable.

On a side note, I see Larry Playfair at nearly every game I go to. Does he have any direct affiliation with the team or just the Sabres Alumni?

"Regardless of which professional team her thoughts were ultimately emanating from, Kim Pegula, who had no team president experience when she took over the mantle of both professional clubs, admitted to learning on the job."

this sums it up

she is "learning" at the expense of us pissing away a franchise player or 2

I’m eagerly awaiting turning over a new leaf and abandoning this username season end. 6 more games of trash and I’m retiring this account. Pegula’s are a bigger joke then anything on the comedy channel. We haven’t had a playoff appearance since this username was created either. May Pegullaville perish and never return after the commencement of the 2018-2019 season.

I watched a porn movie the other day

the asian waitress was behind the bar as it was slow

a fat rich old man came in, threw some money around and next thing you know it, he and the waitress was in the stock room getting it on

4 months later he left his wife and married her

several years later she became president of 2 sports teams

in a few years he will die and she will be the richest person in NY state, excluding NYC

Maybe we should have hired a GM who won the Cup before along with a coach that won the Cup.
I hear Chiarelli and Mclellan are available. I'm sure they could turn around a team with a young superstar like Eichel.

Maybe the real issue was letting Murray overpay for guys in a futile attempt to rebuild far too quickly, setting the franchise back several years in the process.

Let's not pretend that if we had their results (i.e. never past the 2nd round), most fans still wouldn't be calling for him to be fired.

Let's not pretend the Pegula era has worked with a list of team presidents that includes a communications guy a marketing guy and the owners wife with no one between them and the 3 gms they've had

How much of a say in daily hockey ops does Lemieux have? Could be wrong, but the general thought is that he keeps himself out of it for hte most part.

On MacLellan, a GM with experience versus a younger rookie? That's a completely different discussion.

Plus, Mario’s star player sleeps in his spare bedroom. That’s a lot of day today control.

I know that the win streak caused a lot of false hope, but no one thought the Sabres would be good this year. Most experts predicted 78-81 points.

https://www.google.com/am...abres-experts-saying/amp/

It's been very disappointing, but no one should be surprised. I fully expect Housley to be back and about 1/3 of a roster turnover (through trades and replacing FAs with AHL guys and a few signings.) If things aren't significantly improved Housley should be replaced around Thanksgiving.

- adambuffalo

There's no way they should bring him back. He's lost the room and a summer away, changes included, won't fix that

Took you long enough. 😉

That's two of 31 teams and Columbus just (frank)ed themselves for the next 10 years.

I'm not saying I wouldn't want a DOHO, but if the previous gm just allowed the rebuild to play out, we wouldn't be sitting here like this discussing it.

Nor would we have Dahlin, I suppose. Which brings me back to luck...

Went through this last night on twitter. Sorry

I'm on board with them needing a POHO, if only to save themselves from themselves.
Rarely does a meddling owner scenario work out well. Unfortunately, it seems it is the meddling types who are the last to recognize the enemy is themseves. Daniel Snyder comes to mind.

Their complete lack of awareness of the public perception of the Sabres organization outside PSE is baffling. They have become a joke, but they see themselves as righteous.

Housley should be fired. They've given up.

Eichel is looking a bit imature during interviews. I don't really blame him, per se, but someone ie. a coach or veteran should stop him from doing interviews when the team is completely off the rails.

He's the best performing player on the team (often best on the ice all together) but why make him explain why half the team is going for a Sunday skate and what they should do in the offseason.

I don’t take stock in almost any game played in March and going forward

This team totally quit once they were out of it. And it’s all of them besides a few.

trade Jack for a high-end 2C, 35+ goal scorer, and a high-end D prospect.
