I fixed it for you.
I used to think like you do of him.
He is a complete idiot on the ice.
Addition by subtraction.

You single him out as not being able to play a system. I see no one that can. That's the difference. Jack continually goes 1-on-4 or 5, I get why he does it, but it doesn't change the fact that he does, Reinhart has stated publicly that he plays better when he "does his own thing", Dahlin, a rookie, and mistakes are to be expected, but there are some concerning things that have not improved as the season has gone on, he can be extremely lazy with the puck, it's probably because he's always been so much better than everyone that he could get away with it, but he can't now, and so far he hasn't shown that he can learn. I'm not overly worried about it, I think he will, but so far he hasn't.

To a man, they play as individuals. Individual talent is irrelevent if they don't play together. You can cover up a guy's deficiencies if you have them play together. In fact, that's the whole point. So either all the players suck, or more likely, they haven't had a good enough coach to teach them the correct way to play. You can have great ideas, but if you can't get guys to buy in then it doesn't really matter, does it?

There are a few too many coincidences with the Islanders this year to explain away how much a coach can have an effect on a team. They went from the worst defensive team to the best in one year with a new coach. They're on pace to allow 100 less goals than last year with the same team, a worse one almost everyone thought before the season. They're a team with little depth, meh defensemen, and an average goalie playing some of the best defensive hockey we've seen in a while during the highest scoring season since the first season post lost season. There have been 2 seasons with an average of 3 goals or more per team per game in the last 23 years. This year and the first year after the lost season.

I got nothing ..

Onto the draft

Instead of 4-5 playoff games or sprinting to finish outside of the playoffs we get to pick Turcotte/Boldy. I’m happy. Win the lottery for Hughes/Kakko and will cheers to this season.

No. The good ones don’t. Eichel playing poorly will still have a positive effect on this team. Same with Dahlin. Same with Skinner and same with Reinhart

Ristolainen doesn’t have a positive effect on this team. The proof is in the pudding.

If Risto was good, Eichel and Reinhart’s numbers would be better with 55 on the ice with them. They don’t get better. They get worse.

Can Bruce Arians coach hockey?

“We have one goal every year and that’s to win the Lombardi Trophy,” Arians said. “Is that our goal this year? Hell, yeah. We ain’t playing for second place or just to get better. … We have one team, one cause. If you ain’t on that cause, you ain’t on the team. That’s it. If you’re not buying into that accountability to win that trophy, you’re not going to be a Buc. I don’t care who you are.

He wouldn’t want to coach here, “Where Tanking Is Tradition”.

I agree with this, as well as every other post of yours from page 1 on. Also saw the post about “Shaking Bad” in the last blog and had a laugh about that as well before taking the elevator up to my floor at work and thinking about how I’m going to hell now lol.

So, was Botts chosen to manage the Canadian team beacuase,
A: The whole country is afraid of the absolute juggernaut he’s assembling in Buffalo? And that’s the only way they could think of to slow down the runaway success train known as the Buffalo Sabres?

Or B: They knew he wouldn’t be busy trying to make the Sabres any better, so they figured “why not?” Francis and Hexy aren’t currently employed by an NHL team, right?

It's gonna be the same thing as ROR when we trade Risto this summer.

A coach will give him 65% o zone starts w/ PP1 and he'll put up 65 points with an even +/-

For the record, I'm not even against this scenario. But the return better be good

It also doesn't help your +/- when your own forwards don't ever score goals
- jcragcrumple

You are on fire. Even at the end of the 10 game streak, the Sabres overall goal differential was only a few goals. We were in first place and the next 4 or 5 teams below us were in the positive double digits.
