I am simply pointing out that he is not afforded the opportunity of his offensively minded contemporaries.

He is pressed into situations where he doesn't belong. So when his stats improve when he's traded because his useage aligns with his skill set, don't be surprised

Matthews is -4 on a team that's +43, Kadri, the defensive whiz is -2, Stamkos has 93 points and is +2 on a team that's +100, Laine is -17 on a team that's +43, Kessel and Malkin are -19 and -24 on a team that's +34.

I'll take all those players on this team and if anyone of them were on the team they'd get absolutely caved in too.

+/- is a stupid stat, let's be done with it, you don't get to call it dumb and then say, "oh, but". It either sucks or it doesn't. It sucks.
