I don't think Jake has skill . He has the speed and he can hit sometimes but he is not a tough guy. He has a lot of trouble with the finish. He doesn't do enough to make him irreplaceable .

I agree, and I also agree with him not being in that group that's considered untouchable. If we keep in a 3rd line role, I'm ok with that, if we decided to move on for a good deal, ok with that too.

Jake is what he is. I dont have big expectations for him based off draft position, hes a solid 3rd liner. Hes also young, fast, and can hit which is probably appealing to other GMs. Not saying we make a trade for the sake of it, but if you find a buyer who is interested enough, dealing anyone not named bo/brock/petey/Hughes shouldnt be out of the question imo

Yeah, I think most fans agree with this.

Jake's puck handling skills are pretty bad, I won't deny that.
- Nucker101

His shooting accuracy needs improving.
Also get off more shots & puck retrieval.
His passing is good & backcheck very good.

I disagree, he once in awhile makes a nice play, but in general he's not an easy guy to play with since he has that David Booth style of just firing a shot down the wing and not looking to make a play with the puck, mainly due to lack of puck handling ability.

I agree with his accuracy being bad and his back checking is solid.

I don’t know don’t pay much attention to Cal and Car.
I see flashes of dominance in Jake’s game that’s why I think he was picked so high. I just don’t think Greens got the most out of him yet.

- bloatedmosquito

I have seen about 30 minutes of dominance in 3 full seasons.

He has value . I don't want to make the same mistake we always make hanging on too long.

Well his value right now is definitely lower than it was 2-3 years ago, his "potential" appeal falls with each passing season that he doesn't breakout.

We have Roussel who does a better job than Jake at 3rd line . Leivo is a good third liner. Sven is a third liner .Pearson the list goes on and on. How many third liners do we need?

Jake passes fine. Problem is rarely plays with any talent that finishes.

I’d get rid of Green before I’d get rid of Jake.

It is not really no love. Canucks need a few pieces . You are not going to give up Petey Bo or Brock. Next tier down is Jake . He has value and may be over valued. Before his value drops it might be a smart move to get value back for him from the next sucker who thinks Jake will have a breakthrough.

Lol one third liner at a time man. Not disagreeing, I think leivo can be a serviceable 2nd liner, but I agree with the rest. Team is lacking in many positions.

I don't know a bout that, I can't account for many times where I've seen Jake make a great pass and the receiver not finish the play. The guy just isn't built to play that way.

I like Leivo, but again I think there's a reason why guys like him and Sven get moved while their teams are on the upswing. They're the type of guys who look decent enough to be 2nd liners on mediocre teams, but once you want to take that next step, they're the guys you upgrade on.

I still don't see the logic in moving Virtanen unless it's in a package for an upgrade.
- Nucker101

He is a poor example for the new prospects. Him and Goldy float and pick their spots. We need kids that want/ know how to win

35-40 points on the 3rd line would be a breakout for Jake in my eyes

Sure, as long as those kids can skate and have decent size/IQ. I'm not feeling it with Lind/Gadjovich.

Gaudette, yes.

I dont think anyone here wants to trade Jake for the sake of trading him, he clearly still holds value and is completely serviceable to the team in a 3rd line role, but like vantel said, outside of the few deemed untouchable, if jake can be moved now towards getting a good return, Benning has gotta explore that option
- Codes1087

Exactly. Cut bait while we can get some value

I hope they go Leivo or Pearson , Gaudette and Roussel next year as the third . You can build around that

I totally agree. Leivo couldn’t even crack the leafs roster and he’s an asset on our poopty team. Lol.

Gaudette gives an effort every shift just like Motte and Biega . That is why you like players like them. Eventually you have to decide are they good enough.

Fuk the guys that don't play all out every shift.
