That will be fun.

Luongo will do daily stretches and 3-a-day workouts to ensure we get slapped with that 8 mill cap hit penalty.

Tampa is gonna be desperate to move Callahan this summer, I’d call them and see what they’d give up to get rid of him. One year cap dump won’t hurt the Canucks.

Only issue is that he has a NTC...

- Nucker101

Threaten the Robidas Island treatment.
Force him to decide if he has an NHL future.

which is part of the reason i have really liked what we have seen with Gaudette this year. Isn't a prolific point producer or goal scorer, but he is very responsible defensively and bust his ass off every shift.

- Codes1087

He has done all the right things and as a center he's really developed his game in his own end. I think he has natural offensive instincts so once he's comfortable with the other aspects of being an NHL center he will begin to chip in offensively more often. His development is a testament to his drive and focus in addition to work ethic.

It's too early to write them off.
- NorthNuck

Sure - it’s not too early to say they are tracking poorly and have sucked. It’s ok to criticize prospects

This is correct but there is are definite tiers. I, for one, in the range that the Canucks are drafting would be all over:

Byram
Cozens
Zegras
Turcotte
Boldy

I'd stay away from Kaliyev........please, please Lord, keep JB away from Kaliyev.....

- chompsey

Imo 3-8th picks are:

Byram
Cozens
Podkolzin
Boldy
Zegras
Turcotte

Team needs could rearrange that but BPA i listed.

Oh, that wasnt my ranking, just who I hope that JB considers. I'm in the "No Russian" group tho. Always a lot more maintenance than I'd be willing to give if I was running the organization. Unless there was a ridiculous dropoff in BPA, then I'd soon as move on to the next guy....

It's amazing how quickly some people went from praising JB for drafting Lind/Gadjovich to trashing them and saying they'll never make the NHL
- NorthNuck

Chock it up to fickleness & impatience lol
We are all susceptible to it & an all too easy way to react. The need for a serious offseason assessment of players & make real changes is at hand. Simply too many 3-4th line role players bogging us down.

Currently, the Canucks are 8th, and until the draft lottery happens, that is the range they are looking at...

Otherwise I'm a big Cole Caufield, Bobby Brink fan....

It speaks to just how bad the Western Conference is, that a team like the Canucks still had a chance, albeit slim, to make the playoffs, with under 2 weeks to go.

They're under .500 in pts%. That kind of record generally gets you realistically eliminated by the all star break.

the final spot in the West will have 85 to 88 points or so. that's horrendously bad.

- prock

Pretty much

6 games left and potentially 12 pts on the table for the standings. 8-10th spot is realistic. No way we are picking top 5.

I too am luke warm on Russians.
Culture wise they are enigmas so often transitioning into the NHL but if they do they are very elite. Rolling the dice is not my idea of a good risk.

Thats the Canuck way!

We also dont know how teams see the draftees....who would have thought Kotkaniemi and Hayton wouldve gone top 5 last year?

I hear what youre saying tho...

I think Caulfield will drop to 10th & would be a fine pick for any team. Idk anything about Brink yet. I have my eye on a few players around 8-10th.

There are no superstars in this draft . Don't kid yourself. There are good players. If you miss out on one player go to the next.
- VANTEL

You can not like guys, that's fine, but Hughes is the best player to come out of the ushl since Matthews and Kane. kakko has a very, very high ceiling. So many guys don't get the crazy media attention or hype. Hughes and Kakko both have the potential/talent to be on Kane/Rantanen level of play. Rememebr the last time so many of you said there are no superstars in the draft and we got one in the top5?

There are 100% superstars in this draft, that is bullocks.
