I just think it’s stupid to sit your goaltender to play a kid in over his head. I don’t believe in the tank. We will accumulate losses regardless as the team sucks but don’t put kids out there that clearly aren’t ready for this level of comp - CanuckDon

to plays devils advocate, he hasn't really seen a ton of games, even since coming back from his injury. As far as him not being ready, he didn't look it last night, but we have such a small sample size from him, hard to tell what you got when he only plays 6 games. - Codes1087
To play devils advocate further, play Demko every game and he gets shelled even further and his confidence is further eroded. Kid looks awful. Give him a couple games and work with him over the summer |

Agree & playing kids for no other reason to than to just play them is stupid. |

Tommy Salo his ass. Shatter what little confidence he has left. If he is strong enough, he will come back next season on fire! |

how else are you going to know what you have in kids/prospects if you arent willing to give them action in the remaining 6 meaningless games lol. If we are sitting in Nov, i completely agree with you, but we are all but mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, why wouldn't you want to see what you have with these kids going into the summer? |

He isn’t strong. For (frank)sakes, he can’t even handle a 4 hour flight without breaking down |

Our kids can’t handle Utica. I personally don’t need to see them play at an even higher level to know they will fail |

The org needs a culling. Start with Virtanen, Goldilocks and the glass twins (Tanev and sutter) and go from there |

I’d bet Virtanen is toast as well. Can’t see him back next year. Goldobin won’t be qualified. 100%

He has Krebs & Dach dropping fast.
I’m still leaning towards Boldy if there. |

The kid played over 100 AHL games - he's ready for the NHL - you just need to temper your expectations and look at the reality of the situation. Which is, he got rocked last night and the Arizona game. Stood on his head against Chicago and played really well in loss to Edmonton and when he came in relief in the Vegas game. He's a rookie goalie on a sh$t team, with of horrific D core in front of him, at the end of the season. The sky isn't falling. |

Which kids are you speaking of?
If Demko you don’t destroy his confidence by throwing him into the fire. Goalies are handled properly or ruined imo. Next year is his year to be a true backup. As for other kids idk who you mean by that. |

Any "vet" who you absolutely know what they are going to give you (Schaller/Granlund/Beagle/LE/Motte/Biega), I would like to see them rotate out, in the remaining games, and I would love to see a ton of Demko/Hughes/Teves/Sautner/Brisebois/Lockwood (if he signs), MacEwen, basically guys who you will probably want to keep an eye on in the summer. |

On Demko it’s easy as she goes.
Hughes will play soon enough.
Teves anytime now as well.
The D stinks & that’s inevitable.
Lockwood in for Goldy could happen.
Mac had some time & is getting closer but no need unless injuries compel it. |

we aren't playing meaningful games in March, and the sooner everyone understands that, the better off we are lol. I dont know if it was Joey Kenward, or another Canucks media guy, but someone had said he was done a couple days after signing, and the kid has been practicing with the team since. If he is truly done exams, play him every game and see what you got. Sit the vets, play Demko every remaining game. To further the above, Teves was literally signed for this season only as a "show me what you got" contract, so its not really stupid to assume we should be seeing him as much as possible moving forward. - Codes1087
I'm not saying he shouldn't have played, I'm saying that before this weekend, they were what... 4 points out of a wildcard spot? I would think it's more important to get Petey and Boeser and Bo into that mindset of pushing for every single inch out there, no matter the odds of winning/making it, than play a random college free agent a couple games. Dude can still get in some games.
And he literally signed this season so the Canucks could sign him again this offseason as an RFA. Not like they don't also see what he has in practice.
But agree, now that they're this far gone, start playing the kids more. |

Not long ago i wanted Demko in more games say 50/50 but was proven wrong.
A couple more games would be enough after recent outings show he still needs to work on his game. |

Like starting Dipietro against the Sharks? But in that case it was just a good chance to see where he was at right? |
