The Islanders gave up on Bertuzzi early because he was considered lazy and uncommitted. He had a couple of lackluster years here as well. Fans hated his effort level until he and Naslund finally clicked. He was 26 when he had his breakout season.
- YeOldTimer

Yeah, but did he eat at MacDonald’s and chase skirts

So if Leivo, Granlund, Pearson are the same player as Virtanen why is there no talk of trading those guys.

Players I am not fond of and would be happy to see them first moved along;
Goldobin
Granlund
Bartschi
Pouliot
Schaller
Sutter
Eriksson
Players that I would be ok with keeping for another year;
Leivo
Pearson
Roussell
Virtanen
Beagle
Gaudette
Tanev
Edler
Scheen
Stecher
Hutton
Motte
Players that I would keep and build around, but would re-evaluate in two years, especially the goalies;
Pettersson
Boeser
Horvat
Hughes
Demko
Markstrom

Jake early in career was a skirt chasing , booze drinking , McDonalds loving , airhead. I doubt Burtuzzi was cut from the same cloth.

This is his best year and he took 30 a game vacation in the middle of the year.

This so far is not the kid I want to lay my hopes on. My expectations of him when drafted have been one disappointment after another.

Yup - Jake May become an impactful player but it ain’t happening here. Hirsh was bangon this morning. He said Jake is never going to figure it out in his hometown and he has to be moved while he has value. Spoke repeatedly about his poor attitude and effort

They are nothing alike, Todd Bertuzzi had skill and hockey IQ, something Virtanen doesn't possess. Yes he can skate and he's got a great shot, but he doesn't know what to do with the puck other than to skate fast up the wall with it.
- LeftCoaster

Yup - the whole it takes power forwards longer to develop is stupid. For starters Virtanen isn’t a power forward. He has average size and doesn’t like to play physical. He is fast full stop

I'll have lots of company. You ever wonder why there's a stairway to heaven but there's a highway to hell? I'd say the traffic is much more prolific to hell

Id like hughes, alot of teams have that crazy top2 center pair. I think it would be pretty special to have him and petey. Thay said, if you think Kakko will move to center you have to consider taking him imo.

We might be best to get Bryan instead. He's quite the prize. Has tremendous potential to solve everything we've needed in a D.

Look at the write up on him

At this point in the season, I am hoping for more wins from Rangers Sabres and Ducks.😁

I've been aboard the byram train for a fair bit. hoping he slides down low enough for us to nab. Truth is, teams picking above us will likely nab him unless we hit a lotto pick. In which case, you have to take the BPO. If we have 3oa I'm not opposed to byram that high. But, I could also see him not going until 5-6. Hoping we slide into a top5 pick somehow, it would really go a long way to complete the new core IMO. We have two top5 calibre guys (EP and QH) poised to lead the team for a long while in addition to Bo and BB. One more top end piece and we can build around this group.
