going to be interesting to see what expectations are for next year though, especially if Benning adds good/decent players to the roster. - Nucker101
I expect them to fill a hole on RHD and a top 6 Winger and I expect them to be around 15 th.
I think by replacing Pouliot will win them 5 more games . |

I get amazed at how most Canucks can not shoot the puck. They either miss the net constantly or have no zip. I am sure I can shoot harder than Stecher. |
|
|
|
So after long looks from the press boxes Goldobin comes back with one shot on goal and DP had a bad pinch that caused a 2 on 1 that lead to the first goals. Lessons learnt . |

Missed the game last night, was Demko bad or did the team just leave him out to dry? |

He was bad - VANTEL
That sucks. I thought maybe he'd turned a corner after the last game he played, but I suppose we should expect ups and downs at his age |

If the pick is top 3 it defers to 2020 1st instead. I hope Columbus miss the playoffs and Duchene, Dzingle, Bread face, Lt. Bob and McQuaid all walk - Columbus can enjoy their 2 draft picks - they don't even have to show up on the first day. They could just send Nick Foligno to make their picks. |

A few bad goals, a few not his fault, mostly blame Pouliot and Goldy for all the teams problems.
he did make a couple big saves but got no help from the offense obviously. |

He was caught to deep in the net a few times and didn't play his angles very good on a few occasions. |

It's top 3 protected.
BUF has NJ and OTT coming up
VAN plays ANA
Could be a nice swing for Draftists in the coming days. |

Lol.
The kid will be fine, just can't expect him to be a superstar, as soon as he gets in the league.

Anyone know why Nolan Foote is ranked so low in the draft?
His numbers compared to Krebs are interesting - PPG is similar, both wingers, Foote's a goal scorer and Krebs a playmaker, both on terrible teams - Krebs is -50!!! But consistently ranked in top 10 - Foote is late 20's - Anyone got a scoop on him? |

What's not to like about him, 6'3, almost a point a game. |

Was at the game. Don't believe the press articles about the team not bothering to compete and playing like they were disinterested. The entire team was completed gassed.
They needed their goalie to stand on his head and keep them in it. Demko didn't do that. Reminded me a bit of the Markstrom we knew from a few years back. Stopping lots of shots but still letting in goals he should have had.

IDK myself, but kids with that production often slip if their skating isn't that great.
Sam Cosentino - SportsNet - Oct. 2nd: "Busted on to the scene two years ago and lit up the WHL with 19 goals while playing the PP for a great Kelowna team. Fell out of the public conscious due to injury issues last year, but if healthy will rise up the draft board by the time June rolls around."
"Nolan Foote, son of former NHLer Adam Foote and the younger brother of Tampa Bay Lightning first-round pick Callen Foote, has seen his stock fall after scoring 19 goals as a 16-year-old for the Kelowna Rockets in the 2016-17 season. In the summer of 2017, most pegged him as a top-10 pick for this draft, but he only managed 13 goals and 40 points in 50 games in 2017-18 and finished this season with 63 points in 66 games, despite being older than most prospects because of his late 2000 birthday."
"Foote’s skating has improved this season, but it’s still a big question mark, and the main reason some pundits have him outside the top-50. Consistency has been another issue with Foote. In 66 games this season, he was held off the scoresheet 24 times."
He is a kid I would take a chance on with our 2nd rounder if he falls. |

I say continue to stockpile defensemen. Get your offensive player in the top 10 and then draft as many defensmen as you can get.
They are the currency in the NHL. And as we know, defense wins in the playoffs.....
