Under the current set of lottery rules, the past three years, someone always moves up. We just need some luck to be one of those teams.

2016 - Jets from 6th to 2nd and Blue Jackets from 4th to 3rd.
2017 - Devils from 5th to 1st, Flyers from 13th to 2nd and Stars from 8th to 3rd.
2018 - Hurricanes from 11th to 2nd and Canadiens from 4th to 3rd.

The dead last place team retained it's pick two of the three years. Toronto and Buffalo, Colorado dropped three spots in 2017.

No, especially seeing as they will likely lose Bready, Bobby, Duchey, Dizzy for nothing, and they only have 2 picks in the draft.

Looks like he's trying to avoid him since he turns his body more to the left. Smith comes skating at an oblique angle which puts himself in the way. Clearly looking to draw a penalty

My expectations for next, before this year even started, are that we will be a bubble team/in the wildcard race. Were arguably in the woldcard race this year(not really, if you are being with yourself). Imo we are interesting spot where we could be buyers in the ufa/trade market. The west/pacific are simply not that difficult in comparison to the east(in general)/central
