If (and it's a big if that exists only in my fantasy brain) JB was able to make some trades in the offseason, what do ppl think we could reasonably expect for the following:

Tanev
Sutter
Sven
Goldobin (RFA)

was hoping to avoid the 'bag of pucks' answers.

I think we could potentially squeeze a 2nd for all of the above.
Imagine that!

Package a few together to then get an additional 1st rounder.

Hope your right but i think that due to the injury issues with the 3 we will see Sutter/Baertschi/Tanev as deadline deals . I think Goldobin will resign but be lost on waivers at some point in the season.Hopefully the 3 will get their icetime rolled back so that they can be moved out after displaying some sort of an ability to stay healthy

i don't trust any of them to be healthy enough to move at the TDL.
I say move as many as you can in the offseason and sign a couple UFA's to replace them and continue to develop the youth with opportunities to push for spots.

Putting together a bunch of turds won't mean getting a 1st, in my opinion.

It is Tanev's last year and he will miss most of it to injury so that is not too bad .

Tanev hold out for a mid 1st
Sutter an early 2nd & a 5th
Sven a 2nd
Goldoblin for another good prospect

I give my ideal returns for any trade maybe some think too much but thatโ€™s the value i place on them if out there or not.

I look at what other teams needs are to see if there is a fit.

Sabres need a vet top 4D to solidify them.
Coyotes pretty much the same.
Leafs obviously the same
Tanev to either of the 3 for what?

Where or who can use Sutter,Sven Goldy is more difficult.[/img]

Cap implications & weaponizing it is where iโ€™m undecided. Any trades or UFAโ€™s signed is hard to determine where it would lead. The cap is our biggest asset. ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ๐Ÿ˜œ

I have no clue as to their current cap situation , but does Ottawa need to add dead capspace to meet the floor next year ?

just wait until luongo retires next year and we can tack on 2.8, people are going to get real excited in here

Maybe if he kisses Bettmans @ss he can do a Pronger and parley a LTIR into a NHL office gig while he rides it out ?

Cap floor by my math of 74% is 61.4m for an 83m cap next year.

Then sit with 14 signed for 45m
Need 9 at a total of 16.4m.
It shouldnโ€™t be a struggle for them.

Hopefully he somehow ends up retiring this year to limit JBโ€™s spending
