Right, but what you're worried about is the Rangers becoming like Buffalo. But they kind of already are.

Zib is comparable to Eichel, in that he drives the offense. Kreider and Skinner are streaky scores that cannot be counted on. Okposo and Bogiasn are underpreforming vets ala Staal and Shttenkirk. Buffalo overpayed and overhyped Hutton, Rangers had to and are foced to keep Lundqvist. Skjei and Risotlainen are defenseman that have shown flashes of serious skill yet have regressed. Both teams aren't getting enough from their forward prospects. Buch and Reinhart are kinda the same. Reinhart having a bit more skill.

The Rangers and Buffalo are almost the same. The worst that can happen for that Rangers is that keep losing.

Lundkvist is going to be better than Dahlin and K'Andre will be better than all of them

I think they are supposed to get Zegras if he doesn't turn pro right away

Yeah I mean they'll always have good recruiting classes no matter what. I don't think there's gonna be really anyone that turns pro right away from this draft. Maybe Kakko, but Hughes is a tiny little boy, he's gonna need another year.

Rumors that Wahlstrom is going to leave BC and sign with the Isles, too. Which is...interesting.

Josh Ho Sang was Kirill Kabanov 2.0, so this really makes Wahlstrom Kirill Kabanov 3.0

The sad thing is if he just shut his arrogant trap and played hockey he could probably be a top 6 player. If I was the Isles I would be looking for a suitor who wants to take a chance on him, like they did with Griff. Although the Griff deal was absurd. Stevie wonder saw though that one

I'd imagine the OHL. Mississauga owns his rights. He applied for exceptional player status when he was 15, and was denied, but was playing in the GTHL after being denied.

For all the talk about him needing to keep his mouth closed, he really doesn't talk very much. And when he does his words get twisted and taken out of context because of who he is, even by Arthur Staple.

The real issue is the fact that he can't consistently play the defensive side of the puck and that's not going to fly with Lou and Barry.

He was even small for the WJC's, I can't imagine him playing against men next year. Especially after all his injuries this year. He'd be AHL-eligible though.

As far as #1 overall picks go, he really doesn't move the needle much for me. I see him more in the Hischier/Nuge/Ekblad tier of players than the Tavares/Matthews/Hall/Dahlin tier.

Well I think the arrogance goes to him not wanting to change his style of play. I really believe he thinks he knows better than everyone.

That's fair speculation, he definitely marches to the beat of his own drum. But people have this Terrell-Owens-like vision of him and he's really not that person at all.

I'm indifferent at this point. He's got a metric ton of talent, but Trotz teams thrive on systems and team play and if he won't fit that mold then oh well.

His trade value is nil though. Maybe the Isles try to package him with Leddy to pry Nuge out of Edmonton this summer.

After the Griff deal I don't think the Oilers are even taking calls from the Isles

Probably not

But defensemen are a need for them and Leddy is one that has a unique skill-set and they clearly need to make some changes. Plus he's got a reasonable contract that he's still got a lot of term left on. It'd be pretty hilarious to see Leddy and McDavid wheeling around in OT 3-on-3.

Honestly, it wouldn't be a bad place for him to end up with the way that team is built on speed. One thing Leddy can do is skate and create offense

It'd be a good fit for him for sure. He really lacks any hockey IQ though, but if he's out there with McDavid he really doesn't need it. Just fly your own zone and get the puck to him.
