Leiper hasn’t been here all season and unless something miraculous happens both 🐻 🧀 and Suttsey will be back. Not a lot will change.

Sutter can be moved, hopefully at the draft.

He has a full NTC until next season, so I think he has to provide his 15 team NT list on July 1. I mean, I guess it’s possible he gets traded, but if you were an NHL GM would you trade for him?

I didn't pay close attention to the game but it looked like a solid effort by Canucks. I think we are going to be in for a good year next year.

I'm hoping the upgrades will come via Quinn and a UFA. The D is middling this year, but will be better with addition-by-subtraction of Guddy and Poo. QH will do for the D and PP what Boeser did his rookie season.

They need to sign a top 6 forward to a reasonable contract (or win the lotto) to get the offense going. That's been the biggest negative on the team.

Those happen, with Marky keeps up his play, and I can see them being a better, realistic bubble team net year.

I don’t know if Hughes will have a huge impact even if he has a great season. Pettersson was much better than Henrik and they’re still in that 6-9th last spot. There has to be some major upgrades.

Horvat at 60 points to me is as much as you can ask of him. Pettersson could score 90 points, but like McDavid and Draisaitl in Edmonton, that won’t matter if there’s not a lot of improvement elsewhere.

I sincerely hope it happens though, I’m just hoping they can land a good UFA and get a good player via the draft.

It says on Capfriendly that for the 2019-20 season he he needs to provide a list of 15 teams he can not be traded to

He has already been replaced. If I were a GM why would I trade anything to acquire a guy who is at best a 3rd line C who has been injured the better part of 3 seasons in a row, and at worst is a 4th line winger making $4m+ per season?

If Benning wants to give up a pick and retain salary to get rid of Sutter there would probably be a taker out there (Phoenix maybe), but I don’t see anyone wanting to improve their roster by adding him.

I read somewhere JB was getting calls on him before the TDL

I would put Sutter in at Schallers spot . Keep Gaudette 3 rd line C .It is only two moreyears. If he has a good year move him

I don't think he'll have a HUGE impact, not one player really can. Like you mentioned, Petey didn't even get us over that hump. But I think he will help make the PP relevant, and keep things out of our end a lot more. Realistically, if the PP clicks and he gets some offense going, the Canucks could win 5 more games because of that? Then they're actually in that final wildcard race, which is where I see them next year.

Not a terrible idea if you can't trade him or buy him out. Problem is having LE, Sutter, and Beags in your fourth line/press box That's a lot of money right there. But, as always, injuries....

I agree, it will be Beagle, Sutter and Eriksson being protected by Horvat, Pettersson and Gaudette next year. There’s just a bit too much detritus on the roster still, I think it will take another 2 plus years to turn it over still.

I think you will see Edler Hughes Sautner Briesbois OJ as the LHDs .That is significant change.

I think Hutton will be back, like it or not. I’m not sold they will sign Edler before July 1. Edler’s agent may want to see what’s out there for his client to try and force the Canucks hand, and for all the ripping Benning gets here, I think he doesn’t care about feelings and would let Edler walk if the term isn’t in the Vanucks best interest.

I don't see Benning rolling with that during a season where his job is potentially on the line. We'll see though.
