I don't because Benning is in charge.

@LukasFavale

A record-breaking goal for Alex Barre-Boulet. A record that has stood since the 1994-95 season. 31 goals for the rookie! #SyrCrunch

That kid really blew up in his last year of Junior, but coming from the Q that doesn't say much. He was outscored by Michael Carcone one year. And at 5'9 165lbs who would've thought he'd jump into the AHL and be tied for most goals in his rookie year. Didn't see that coming.

He blew up to insane point totals. He had 51 points in 68 games as a rookie in his draft year. Just looking at point totals. That's at least worth a 3rd round pick.

Anthony Cirelli
36 points in 68 games in his rookie season in the OHL same drafted and taken by Tampa Bay in the 3rd round. 47 points in 94 games in the NHL now.

(frank) Tampa Bay.

Don't forget Marchessault, Gourde, Johnson all picked up by TB because they were too small to be drafted.

Which year? Carcone is a year older. In his rookie season in the Q in his draft year Alex had 51 points in 68 games. That's good enough for a mid 2nd round pick in my book. Looking at stats alone. Carcone in his draft season was playing in the OJHL and was less than a ppg.

They tied for points in the next season. 89 points in 65 games.

- manvanfan

Yeah that's what I'm talking about - they were both in their 2nd year of JR. Carcone had 47 goals to ABBs 35. if you wanna factor in age great - a year later as a 19yr year his goals and points were down but like i said as a 20 year old he blew it up. My point being - i don't think anyone could have forecasted the amount of success he's having as a rookie going from the Q to the A. its quite impressive.

Yup - my hatred for Tampa is based purely on jealously.

Foote, Volkov, Katchouk, Raddish, Stephens, Cirelli, Joseph - thats an impressive batch of kids all coming up. Tampas 2nd, 3rd, 4th round picking is crazy - they usually hit at least once a draft with a guy that becomes important. Its sickening.

As of now they'll have around 10mil next year to sign Point, possibly Erne, Paquette and 4 defensemen. Seems impossible but i bet you they'll figure it out and come out on top - (frank) Tampa.

That penalty by Gaudreau was a turd move like the whiny turd he is.
- Nighthawk

Playoffs are going to be tough on this poor little man. Don't like the Flames' chances based on how pissy they got during a game with a very soft Canucks team.

He deserves a fine for that dive.
- Codes1087

Absolutely, but he won't be. Happened past the NHL's bed time.

I'm sure Kelly Hrudey called him out for it though, right?

I didn't pay close attention to the game but it looked like a solid effort by Canucks. I think we are going to be in for a good year next year.

Unless there’s some major upgrades I don’t know why you think that? How are they going to get that much better? I hope they are, I just can’t see it right now.

“The Flames’ 4th line continued to demonstrate why they’re one of the best in the league when Andrew Mangiapane (I’m going to admit right here, right now, that I had to google who this guy was) made it 3-1 Calgary:”

I wonder how many Cups these guys have won.

Next season, rather than insulting the kids by playing Sutter and Beagle I hope Green insulates Beagle and Sutter by playing the kids.

I'm hoping the upgrades will come via Quinn and a UFA. The D is middling this year, but will be better with addition-by-subtraction of Guddy and Poo. QH will do for the D and PP what Boeser did his rookie season.

They need to sign a top 6 forward to a reasonable contract (or win the lotto) to get the offense going. That's been the biggest negative on the team.

Those happen, with Marky keeps up his play, and I can see them being a better, realistic bubble team net year.

I have a feeling they will be a playoff team.

The main reason is Bo Brock and Petey should be better and add Gaudette to improve also.

I don't see us having as many holes on the D. Maybe with the addition of Hughes we are in the other end a little more.

I think they will cut ties with some of the lesser players .

Pearson Lievo Roussel have been nice additions so far.

Hughes > Pouliot

Pearson > Leipsic

Gaudette > Sutter

Leivo's ability to stay healthier than Baertschi for a full season. *knock on wood several dozen times*

A lotto win > over just about everyone except for maybe Petey

I would like to see Canucks make a move on Sven . 22 games does not cut the mustard . He produces at a little over .500 PPG but the problem is he is never there. Either declare him unfit or get him playing

Leiper hasn’t been here all season and unless something miraculous happens both 🐻 🧀 and Suttsey will be back. Not a lot will change.
