No you're spot on 67. This org has a hard on for Euro ice dancers and Boqvist is the latest. Good young prospect no doubt, but watched that London/Windsor game last night. Bouchard was dominant. 2 goals, 2 assists, played in all situations. Hawks passed on him at 8 to take Boqvist and the Oilers snapped up Butch at 10.

P.S. Boqvist was M.I.A. late in a close game, Dale Hunter not trusting him one iota to be out there in a thrilling opening playoff game. Telling omission.

- philco28

Patience, Dale telling him he's got to get better in his own end, nothing wrong with that, if he's got more talent than Bouchard, Stan made the right choice, i hear he can skate better than Bouchard so...

Going on 4 straight early tee times. Patience is thin with this front office.
Everybody on the current Hawks roster needs to better in their own end.
Not sure we need more of that right now. Boqvist is lighter and more agile
than Bouchard. Bouchard is in the Seabrook, Shea Weber mould.
Boqvist ? Not sure what mould he fits. We'll see.

Think we see one more year of Bowman and McD. If this team fails again next year to make the playoffs????

You mean 2 straight early tee times, they did make the playoffs the prior 2 years and Bowman did everything he could by trading away 1st round picks unfortunately the team couldn't get by the Blues or the Preds.

And we are going to compliment the Oilers for hitting on a draft pick, I'm still waiting on Nurse becoming a difference maker.

We might have one of the best dman the Oilers drafted in the last 10 years, Gusto, i think Klefbom, Nurse then Gusto in that order, 10 years of sucking and they still can't draft a dman

4th row off the glass in the corner of Avs zone where Hawks shoot twice. Right next to where the ice girls come out. Red Hawks jersey, short blonde hair and a large beard.

LETS GO HAWKS!

The Manning and Kunitz signings to me were influence by Q now Bowman made the final call on those signings. The signing of Seabrook was not only Bowman's mistake but Rocky and McEgo mistake as well they had to sign off on it, they made the mistake of paying for pass performance. Seabrook is still a good defense man but in a 3rd paring role and on the PP 15 to 18 minutes a game he could be good plus his leadership in the locker room on the ice and off the ice will help the d coming up in the future. I stated before I am not a bowman fan at all he made some really bad trades and moves but not every GM is perfect but it seems he is learning and with Q out of the picture and JC and Bowman seemingly on the same page hopefully this could be a quick turnaround. IMO Hawks have 4 year window with Towes and Kane to win another cup. I am a Hayden fan understand why he not playing but he brings something Hawks need and lack size and physical play he needs to more consistent but playing a game here and there is hard to evaluate what he can do.

Here are my possible lines next year:

Saad Towes Perlini

Dcat Strome Kane

Ferland Eakin Kahun

Caggulia Kampf Hayden

Extra forward to be name later

Keith Joki

Mcnabb Murphy

KoKo Seabrook

Veteran D man to be named later

Crawford

Delia or Veteran backup

AA is traded for pick and prospect then hawks use a 2020 2nd draft pick and prospect to vegas or mcnabb and eakin. Hawks sign Ferland to 4 years at 5 million per. Thoughts or your possible lines next year and trades and signings.

- Scott1977

Did you trade Gustafsson? He's not in your lineup.

If Gustafsson is no longer a Hawk and any of Koekkoek, Dahlstrom, or Forsling is retained, it would be ideal as the 7th man and try to add a 2nd new blueliner to pair up with Seabrook.

Hopefully the cap goes up a lot the next couple years, they'd need it. I've read that Ferland wants $6M, and I'm sure he'll get more than four years. Would you still want him?

I realize that this forum is overly optimistic on team chances, given survivorship bias after pathetic results last few years, but I did not think anyone still has illusions of another cup next few years. Team has too many holes from goaltending to defense to forward depth. And the code, including 19, 99, 2 and 7 getting older so each year will regress, while there are only middling prospects in the pipeline and prospect development is mediocre, and coaching suspicious.
The longer fans pay for season tickets saying "This is last year, they better get their act together next year" and then rinse and repeat next year the longer we will be subject to that mediocrity. Either way I think Hawks have very little chance on cup next 10 years till all contracts run out, management swept out, and new management gets a chance to draft and build again clear slate. We have seen this situation from mid nineties to mid 2000, so here comes another decade courtesy of our GM.

- vshun

Overly optimistic!

Not at that price. He is nowhere near the player Saad is and we all now how much slag he takes around here.

Guy is a 35-40 point player. Basically Ryan Hartman except he plays for other teams so that makes him better

LOL you must be reading my posts. I have been writing about obtaining those two from Vegas for several weeks. As far as that other veteran D man you mentioned, throw in Kookoo in the Vegas trade and get Miller.

Regarding Gus's absence in your proposed lineup, what if the Hawks dress 7 D and use Gus on PP and O zone starts? Also dress him and sit Seabs on back to backs?

One guy has 4 years of experience playing for Hunter and the other is in his first year in the OHL. Plus a year younger. I wonder why Hunter would make that choice. Could be he is trusting the guy he has more experience with.

We did true, but lose a winnable series vs STL when the #OneGoal mantra culminated with a green Gustafsson gift wrapping the series winning goal. And he's still here. And then the nutless sweep to Nashville. Still, both early tee times.
Boys had 3 straight long summers of replenishment and still here they are, on the outside looking once again.

Nurse and Bouchard are different players. We'll see. EDM has a ton of problems, least among them is Nurse.

And still waiting on Stan and Kelley to draft a T4 that sticks in CHI.
Landing lights for Amelia Earhardt might come on before this front office gets that right.

Concussion history and some other issues when he was with the Flames. When he is right he has some value because he brings a physical game. But too big a risk long term at big money.
Hawks better off working hard to develop Perlini and keeping Saad.

I see we don't agree and that's fine. From my perspective everything Bowman tried to do to win a Cup was the right thing to do which precedes the 2 early playoff exits, after the sell off of 2010, built the lower lines back up got rid of Campbell's contract brought in Oduya and traded for Leddy.

2013 to 2017 he was trading high draft picks for complimentary players to win SCups and so on.

2017-19 realizes Panarin isn't enough to win the SC so trades him away which leads to a bad year from Saad and Toews, so he gets a chance to rebuild and drafts a bunch of dmen and brings in a young bright minded coach who is willing to develop players at the NHL level

Time will tell but i think they are much closer to being good again than others do
