We're trading Hart for a veteran. Because "action." - jmatchett383
I almost want to see a Hart for Bob trade just to see the lulz and the epic rants The Clown would post.
I would also agree with The Clown on those rants if that happened. |

Agree. On both counts.
But still, I don't get how people don't see a middle grounds between "don't trade any prospects/picks at all" and "Trade all of our prospects/picks." If there's a trade out there that will make the team better both in the present and future, whether or not it involves picks, then it should be a trade that is considered. |

What Hextall did from a business standpoint of Stocking the cupboards was outstanding but he Neglected the product on the ice.
This summer there are no excuses. You have three skilled centers, top line wingers, a number one defenseman with support and a starting goalie. Get a big fish coach and fill in the gaps. - SuperSchennBros
I agree. Hexy did so many good things for this organization and people forget to give him credit for how far along he got us. However...one of his biggest mistakes was his loyalty to hak |

Agree fully.
I don't want to move Ghost because he had a down year but if he is a key part of a trade to fill in another hole on this team I'm listening. |

At least 10 guys either have it (including a couple that played through it last night), had it pretty severely and are now feeling better (Hartman, Giroux, Myers, Morin) or are starting to come down with it.
Yes, they had flu shots. No it didn't prevent it. A lot of teams are flu-riddled around the league right now but the Flyers have been especially hard hit. - bmeltzer
That's because the flu shot doesnt prevent the flu. Are the players required to receive all vaccinations? I'd be pushing for medical freedom at the next CBA |

These guys spend hours sitting in the locker room, sitting on the bench, flying on planes, riding buses, and other activities that require them all to be in close proximity to each other in small, enclosed spaces for long lengths of time. I think it would be foolish and very rude of one of them to not get vaccinated. |

Approximately 1978 I got a shot for the swine flu. It made me more sick than I have ever been. I never got another flu shot and I never regretted it. - Djapana
Smart man!! Everyone who gets the shot feels like poop. I dont vaccinate and I am healthy as can be. Those shots are bad news |

Yeah, me and my family have gotten the flu 0 times in the past 23 flu shots (never got them before then)...but everyone who gets a small injection of a dead virus apparently feels terrible. Okay. |

I think its rude of them to get one considering the virus sheds. Just like the MMR sheds. It says it right on the insert.
No wonder if passes so easily if they are all getting the shot đŹ |

The flu shot isn't a vaccination. It's a small injection a dead virus. It is impossible to get the flu from the flu shot.
That said, the flu shot is based on projections of what the past virus will look like this year. Also, it's regional, so the flu shot in Florida and the flu shot in California will be different.
Flu shot is one thing because, again, it's not a vaccination. Completely different things medically. |

If Hakstol was the hill Hextall was willing to die on, the firing was warranted. I didnât want Hextall fired. I certainly wanted him to do more with the product on the ice while the kids developed but I didnât want Hextall to lose his job...but I do believe his loyalty to Hakstol was his undoing. |

This has not happened for all 23 flu shots that my wife, both children, and myself have received. So no, not everyone who gets a flu shot gets sick. Some do, yes, but it's not necessarily cause and effect.
The flue shots are typically given in the fall, around November. The Flyers have several players that have gotten sick in the past week. Are you suggesting the the flu shots from 4 months ago are making them sick now?
And, again, the flue shot is not a vaccination, there is a huge difference. |

I think his loyalty to Hakstol played a part. But at the time, the team was playing boring, losing, uninspired hockey, fans were not attending, droves of STHs were leaving, and the product was just not selling. Hextall refused to part with any of his assets to try to improve the product, and, coupled with other things like a much-disliked coach, ended up losing his job. But I don't think it came down to an ultimatum to fire Hakstol. |

He's played a grand total of 7 games since November 2017 and only was able to finish 4 of them (re-aggravation of core muscle issue during outdoor game in Hershey in January 2018, tore ACL in 1st pd of game 3 of Charlotte series last April, dehydration/cramping issues in his first AHL conditioning stint game).
So Sam has essentially only played four games in the last 16 months. There is zero chance they'll dress him tomorrow night. Even if there were two injuries or two more flu victims who have to miss a game, they'd call up someone who has at least been playing.
Morin will ONLY see a game or two after the Flyers are mathematically eliminated. Even then, they might just table it until training camp when he'll have had a full healthy summer (knock wood) and is on equal game-conditioning footing.
Even if you dress him before this season ends, you can't possibly get a fair gauge on his play after all the time he's missed. It would give him a bit of peace of mind but beyond that, there really isn't much benefit to it. - bmeltzer
Your last paragraph sums up how I've felt about Morin for awhile. |

Im presently evaluating a scenario of signing Panarin allows them to trade ghost and TK for a player like Trouba (*or a Dman of that ilk)

To sum it up. Undeserved loyalty to the coach and lack luster product on the ice.
Iâm with you. Whether some of you buy in, Philadelphiaâs identity is smack mouth hockey. I get that broad street bullies are the thing of the past but itâs not big tough guys donât Exist in the NHL today. I hate having nobody to at least square off with Tom Wilson in case we need it. |

Have you ever wondered how they predict flu season? And how it always seems to get bad around the time they push the vaccines? The highly ineffective ones?
I only ask because I'm a holistic nutritionist and working on my degree to be a naturopath. Western medicine damages people and then they come to my field to be healed.
I am not gonna turn this into a vaccine debate because its a hockey forum but look up the ingredients in those things. I'm truly glad you and your family had no damage. Other families arent so lucky. Which is why I'm pro choice. Sorry for the rant....touchy subject for me |

There are lots of options on that middle ground and that is good news for exploring the trade market, choices at the draft and FA so that filling roster holes this offseason can happen (without mortgaging the future).

Hextall liked to micro manage everything. He picked all of the assistant coaches and locker room spies (Murphy). He maintained a level of control over Hakstol that most experienced NHL coaches would never stand for. So to say he was âloyalâ to Hakstol was really a misnomer. Hakstol was his puppet that he tried to control until it all blew up. Very thankful both are gone. |

I mean, my shoulder is sometimes sore for a day or so, because I was just stabbing there with a needle...but I've never felt sick from the shot itself not has anyone else that I've know because IT"S A DEAD VIRUS!
Now, I once had a cold when I got the flu shot, and didn't feel good after the flu shot. So I guess that counts??? |
