so i've pretty much recused myself from watching hockey the past 3 weeks. The cbj were a perennial bottom feeder of incompetence in their history. Somehow, I am more disgusted with how things are going then simply mailing it in and calling it a season.

I can't blame Jarmo, because like it or not he gave this franchise a semblance of credibility. His credit card like acquisitions were self inflicted, he did this for the fans and the franchise. On paper this team should be in a playoff spot....on paper. On ice its a poop show, no excuses. Like some mentioned, is it the atmosphere in the room .

I know i'm one of those who would crucify Torts and blame him for this because of his style and how it's something players today don't respond to. I think he expects things from some guys that aren't realistic. That being said, i'm not calling for his firing but I would say he's part of the problem. The best guess in my opinion for this fiasco is the pressure and exceptions of going all in, attitude of some guys who are maybe looking towards next year and the coach drilling the same message or not making/finding the right adjustments .

And it's unfortunate because now we will pay for emptying the tank for the next 5 years or so, I feel for Cam who signed long term on the promise of trending upwards, seeing how he's the last remnant of the Nash era jackets and how they have progressed as a team and franchise since then. Worst case scenario , I doubt Jones and Zack will want to stay around for a potential rebuild.

Leafs could realistically lose all 6 of their remaining games. Or win at most 2 of the six and the BJs could get in if they win their remaining games.

The leafs have a much harder schedule. I'd love to see the BJs get in. Habs and Carolina have easier schedules than the leafs.

Best chance for Columbus is if the leafs lose 4 or more of 6 and BJs win their remaining games.

Yeah cause having to run through Winnipeg, Tampa, Washington, and Toronto is such an easy sched for the Habs.

Toronto has Ottawa, NY Isles, Carolina, Tampa and Montreal

Columbus has Nashville, Buffalo, Boston, NY Rangers, and Ottawa

Carolina has Washington, Flyers, Pens, Toronto, NJ, and the Flyers again

Toronto should be able to get 4-6 points from their games, Columbus SHOULD be able to pick up 4-6 as well.

Carolina SHOULD be able to nab 6 to 8 points

Montreal will be hard pressed to grab more than possibly 2 points.

This game tonight should be the season on the line game for the Habs here as they need to put the distance between themselves and the Jackets.

Habs really do have the worst schedule.

Did not see or hear the game due to work, but it is still hard to see how the CBJ makes it with 2 back-to-backs on the road and only a home game left with Boston. They can only afford to lose one of their last five and still must get massive help. Even then it might only be a series with Tampa Bay, but if we get really, really fortunate we get a rematch with Washington.

Plus we need to get Ryan Murray back almost immediately.

CBJ fans can hope I guess.
