Why is Hägg always the odd man out? It wasn’t long until Coburn became the perfect compliment to Timonen at a young age. I would go with what we have.

To WPG: Ghost, Hagg OR Gudas (their choice), 2019 3rd (don't Flyers have two?), 2020 1st
To PHI: Trouba, Perrault, 2020 3rd

They really don't need forwards. Flyers 2020 1st should be a later pick

Would definitely have to be Ghost there, and I doubt they'd throw in anything else, but I would consider it.

Sorry, maybe I phrased it poorly. Ghost would def be going. Said better, it would be to WPG: Ghost + Hagg OR Gudas (their choice) + 2019 3rd + 2020 1st

Again, the only player I would divide is MacDonald, even if it’s for a Loaf of moldy bread.

Why are we talking about adding a veteran defenseman? If you add, how are we going to get Samual morin ran into the line up? There is a reason outside of money to remove Andrew MacDonald outside of money. He isn’t that good. There isn’t a reason a reason to move Gudas or Hägg because they’re both paid fairly and two of our rare physical players.

Because Jacob Trouba is better than both of those players and brings a physical presence as well. Also, in this proposed sceanario (not saying I would do it) you are subtracting 2 defensemen (Ghost and Hagg/Gudas) and adding one (Trouba). Wouldn't that, if anything, open the door for Morin?

JMachette's response is pretty much exactly what my answer would've been. He beat me to it.

What do you mean by the term divide? I'm not being a smartass. I seriously don't know what you mean by that.

BTW, a while back someone on here posted something about the band Black Pistol Fire. Since then I've become a big fan, and have anxiously been waiting for them to come through the area. They'll be at Underground Arts on May 12th for anyone that cares

Somewhere in that ball park unless some GM is overcome with incompetence. Which is why it's foolish for the Flyers to do so. Add a lesser veteran in free agency for a few years in the right deal. Continue to develop your own top pairing defenseman.
- MJL

that assumes they have the talent to develop into a top pair guy.

depending on the cost duncan keith is who i target. He can help in a lot of ways imo.

you say add a lesser veteran in free agency. What names do you have in mind?

Tonight I’d like to see our players shine. We have holes, but we shouldn’t be seeing games where no one stands out this time of year. We do have good players and talented youth. Hart, Provy, Coots and G lead the way. Go ahead and win!

Let’s go Flyers!

I add Kavin Hayes and Q (if avaialable, moving Gordon to Assistant if Q is ok with it) to this team and wait until game 20 to make any serious changes.

I let Raffl walk and let the kids (mainly Frost) compete for his spot.

I would consider trading Voracek if the right deal came along.

Agreed, the 14th overall pick is always a waste, 12 always produces a winner.
- jmatchett383

Ahh, love me some sarcasm.

2 spots is 2 spots (or rather, moving up is moving up), + slightly increased lottery odds, vs...the warm bellyrub feeling that comes from winning all but meaningless games at the end of a season because it translates into...what exactly?

If wins at the end of the season had any impact whatsoever on the following season, the Flyers would be a better team, wouldn't they?

We (not you and I, but Flyers fans) seem to have this debate most seasons, and for me there is no reason to think that how a team closes out one season has any impact on the next.

And the idea that losses during the last 10 games would be bad for the psyche of the team while all the previous losses are of little (or lesser) consequence seems a bit convenient to the argument.

All that being said, I'm not talking about tanking, but I'm also not overly concerned with winning at the this point in the season given the last 4 games. I'm fairly meh, unfortunately.

Never heard of them before. Listening to Speak of the Devil right now. Pretty good, hints of the Black Keys.

I think it's clear that Provorov and Sanheim have the talent to develop into true top pairing defenseman. Gostisbehere doesn't have the defensive chops but when he's on his game he's really good offensively and at 5 on 5 play. Small sample for Myers but he has obvious high level physical tools.

Someone like Anton Stralman at the right price and term.

FYI,
I was neither advocating trading Nolan Patrick, nor declaring him a bust
I think he will be a very good player. He could be a great player if he can become consistent with his intensity level. He's conscientious defensively and can shoot the puck. He needs to trust his shooting ability a bit more. In the offensive zone, he needs to approach puck battles and driving/getting to the greasy areas the same way Bryan Mills appoaches searching for his daughter (Taken reference).
As far as the "right deal", I am spitballing something like Tampa having cap issues and deciding to part with Point, with Patrick being the primary chip, not just a chip. Unlikely, but you never know.

Like stralman. I wouldn’t trade ghost but his straight ahead speed worries me, hope it is just this season and confidence
