I'm in favor of keeping him as the #8 buried in the AHL, personally. And yes, if you can do what you suggested (which I doubt) then yeah, the cap dollars works out. What value is worth it? A 4th? - jmatchett383
I think a fourth is about the most you get back. Is that enough to eat 2.5 mil? Does he have more value as insurance? Only Fletcher can determine that. The problem is that if someone gets dinged we need a player to be #7. |

I think the right team will give a 4th with salary retained. I don't support just giving AMAC away, but if you can make a trade that works for both sides, do it. - wcorvette
If they need the cap space to make a separate deal to make the team better, I would support giving him away. |

A lot is going to depend on Morin.

agreed, then he becomes a dump. You have to think with what they have in the pipeline and that Fletcher will add a D, AMAC probably becomes expendable. I have no issue keeping him around but prefer we are in better shape where they part ways with him |

The Flyers should get more value for retaining salary in a deal. However if they need that 2.5M to do something else to make the team better than I wouldn't worry about the return. - MJL
Exactly my point. Now if they need a roster spot, any deal will do. Cap space isn't the issue. Retaining salary should bring back a better return if Flyers don't need roster spots or cap space. |

A rebuilding team like the Sens might need a vet D or LA, I just like saying that.. |

NHL Players prefer McDavid over Crosby...
I get it and if it was for starting a franchise, due to age I would go McDavid. on the other hand, until McDavid elevates his team, Crosby is the man

They have plenty if cap space can handle his whole salary but they are cheap and don't like to spend. They have draft picks though from all the dead line deals. |

Im not disagreeing but Crosby’s management has always went out and got Crosby the proper support. Even if Crosby misses time, Malkin is always there to do a pretty good job keeping that team going. |

I hope next year they give AMac first pairing minutes, bring back Vendevelde, put Coots at 3C and resign both Elliott and Talbot and let Hart season more in the minors |

Malkin was drafted before Crosby...they didnt have to go out and get him
Really only Kessel has been a huge add that helped them win a cup. Most of their contributors have been high draft picks they got from all their sucking and tanking |

What does this even mean? Malkin is still pretty good support right?
Kessel is a good add. So is Hossa. Mark Recchi, John LeClair, Sergei Gonchar, Ziggy Pauffy. Jordan Staal, Kris Letang, Marc-Andrew Fleury. Doesn’t matter how they got them. They got them. Jerome Iglinla. James Neal. |

You said they went out and got Crosby support. Drafting someone before Crosby is not going out and getting him support. Even drafting someone after isn't really going out and getting support because you are gonna have to draft anyways. Going out and getting support means either trades or FA signings |

Mcdavid was flanked by Zach Kassian and Milan Lucic the other night, take that into perspective . Mcdavid is surrounded by absolute garbage, that team is pathetic. |

Also, on the Mcdavid/Crosby. This guy just fired out 3 100 point seasons in a row, saying you'd take Crosby over him is a little absurd at the moment. Mcdavid is the best player in the league, hands down. |

Too bad his interviews are so crappy. He appears angry, bored, or an idiot in most of them. Which I'm sure is not the case. Just weird... Of course I don't go out of my way to watch him either so maybe my sample size is just off. |

I have not seen much of his interviews, it can't be easy playing on that team when every night him and Draisatl have to carry multiple pianos on their backs. |

My apologies. Sidney Crosby always had support and the Penguins always got him more support. Better?
To go from Mario Lemieux to Geo Malkin is pretty good support. |

Nothing wrong with acknowledging Crosby's talent. If he wouldn't of whined so damn much when he came into the league, If NBC didn't shove him down our collective throats, and Pierre didn't fellate him 24/7 he wouldn't face such hatred |

McDavid is the best offensively-talented player in the league right now (sorry Kucherov).
But if I need one player to win a Game 7, at the moment, give me Crosby. |

I understand what you are saying but people said the same about Hart and hart did just fine!
If he gets overwhelmed then he can identify his areas of improvement and work on it over the summer.
But the kid has got to play. He is a hockey player. He will be just fine - sILKAsSINASALO
How is the Hart situation the same? He was playing live games the entire season.
