shutting up the Habs that night was the highlight of the Season so far.

Apparently it f'd up Domi so much he can no longer play.

Leafs 17th in the league pts wise since January according to tim and sid.
If true.

Not good.

- Fakepartofme

Goals against not good (would be much worse without Andersen), shots against not good, PK not good, PP not as good as it could or should be.

After 72 games, they have less points than they did last year.

On paper, they should be better than last year but right now they look about the same, at times worse.

Tavares and Muzzin should be difference makers in the playoffs but without home ice, it's going to be a really tough series in Boston.

Right, just forget him adding Jake Muzzin a few weeks earlier.
It's amazing what journalists can ignore if it doesn't fit their narrative.

Petan is part of the Flinstones making very little cash next season to ice a team that’s got lots of top heavy team...remember the cap

Didn't the lightning lose in the final recently, mostly because bishop and Tyler Johnson got hurt?
- mykokes

Attended all those games in Tampa vs Chicago game 5 n 6 the bolts were schooled cause they had no depth to cover injuries and Young damn Hedman was a mess

It wasn't 12 years. 3 conference final loses and one cup final loss. Interestingly other years they miss the playoffs.
- mykokes

And yet they still haven't won the cup since 2004. The point of that post was that you need patience if you want to build a contender.

That was a thing of beauty. Helped the pain from the Habs schooling the team during the Sittler years...a little at least

Nylander hasn't been the problem. Fact is that Matthews is really bad/ineffective when he's not really good.

The bottom 2dmen are weak ATM. If we thinking of today then yeah it's an issue but with Carolina playing so well d men just aren't available on the market. The one exception being Montour, who we could have acquired for a decent price.

The understanding is that lilly and sandin could be our third pair next year and while they're both good this is still somewhat of a rebuild.

We're the same team as last year but with Tavares so it'll really come down to beating Boston to gauge where we are.

This is just Mike trying to take media focus off the players themselves and putting it on himself.
- BINGO!

Yep. Tough stretch so it’s easier to put blame on coach then players.

They were ripping on montour in the sabres thread too.

I think it’s difficult coming to a new team with different systems. Look at mcdonaugh last year with Tb. Wasn’t great but found his groove this year.

I think we’ll be saying the same thing with Muzzin next year.

I'm just going to average the scores from the last 5 Leafs games to come up with my predictions:

5-3.6 Preds.

Lol. Fans of that team have the patience of a stone.

While we have a much longer cup drought, at least our team is expected to make the playoffs again and has a lot to be optimistic about.

Those poor bastards have two superstars (1 being arguably the best player in the league) and then a whole bunch of garbage. After all of the damage Chiapet did to that team (not to mention how long he was allowed to keep running that team into the ground by ownership!), I don't know how any Oilers fans haven't had to check themselves into an institution by now.
