THats true (regarding top 6 if Maatta was bag and Guddy stays new Guddy.) I really want to know if this new Gudbranson is here to stay. It’s kind of mind boggling.
- j.boyd919

I said this last week, but the reason why I have hope that this is permanent is because he's been very sound positionally. He's been playing sound positional hockey relative to his partner and larger 5 man unit since the second he's gotten here, and has now had a sample size of 10 games where he's been consistent in that regard. You can definitely turn sound positioning on and off with fluctuations in effort, but you can't really luck into having a prolonged period of that if you have bad IQ, which is what I thought Gudbranson's problem was. To me, I think Gudbranson's demonstrated that he thinks the game at a pretty good level sense getting here, which would lend itself to this bout of success being sustainable.

If he were all over the place chasing hits and getting turned around like Jack Johnson and Pettersson was carrying that pairing and covering for his mistakes in sheltered minutes/deployment, I'd be a lot more worried, but Gudbranson's been carrying a lot of his own weight out there.

Oh yeah. Pittsburgh’s media is annoying as (frank). I don’t follow any of them anymore. Yohe is now garbage too when he was one of the better ones. Dave Molinari might be the only member of the media I can really withstand anymore and even he can be brutal sometimes. Like you said, they all slob on GMJRs knob like it’s corn on the cob, so it’s awful.

I actually had some awesome corn on the cob from this place called BarTaco.

Corn on the top left smothered in cheese was awesome.

I can't figure it out. Like with Schultz I got it; was still young and playing on a team that couldn't coach their way out of a paper bag. Gudbranson has been in the league for seven seasons with two different teams.

I can't figure it out. I'm not complaining, but I can't figure it out and of course I'm just waiting for the switch to flip. I just hope it was just a player who had something to prove, needed motivation and we're seeing who he really is as a player.

I wish he could rub off on JJ somehow.

- Rinosaur

It was two incredibly bad teams. I'm not ready to buy stock in Gudbranson either, but usually guys get better when they leave Florida.

No more Trotman. Thank goodness.

If he was playing in a bottom pairing role I would have been fine. I'm not saying you per-se, but the people have been so critical of him are being unfair IMO. He, in no way ever, should be playing on a 1st pair. All things considered I think he played admirably given the fact he shouldn't have been playing there.

It could have been a lot worse.

I f'n love tacos but cant do cilantro. I'm one of those weirdos (approx 14% of people)that have the gene that makes it tastes like soap. Like I legit bit into a bar of ivory or ate flowers or some poop. Very strong taste of it too.

That's cus the Pittsburgh media has an agenda to pump of how not that bad our other defensemen are. They will forever beat that horse so long as Rutherford is our GM. In their defense this time around, though, I've been impressed with the way the blue line has held down the fort while he was gone. This was a much better job than 2017.

Agreed, but...hey, it worked.

"Ron Hainsey was part of the top defensive pair on a Stanley Cup winning team."

Just read that sentence.
