I dont have any issue with Morin eventually pushing for a 4,5,6 spot.
Hell given how his development has gone that would be amazing.
I just also think Hagg is a really solid 5,6.
If I think about next year..
Provy, Sanheim
Ghost, Myers
Hagg/Morin/Gudas.
The other variation on that is a smart trade involving Ghost to get additional forward help with either Hagg or Gudas slotted in the 4 spot. - opeth_pa
Wouldn’t mind switching the Sanheim and Ghost spots to get Sanny back on the left side, but overall agreed on that being the optimal players in the Top 4 next year

I have awaited the arrival of MR BIG, Sam Morin to the national stage.
The only reason I can think of (other than a REALLY long rehab) is that TPTB do not wish to put him into a position that any possible error can cost the Flyers their 'chance' of making the POs.
No kid should shoulder that burden. It might break him. Playing perfect in every shift is nothing to sneeze at as an objective goal.
I then assume, if he is ready to go. It'll be after this season is truly dead before he is in the lineup.
Al least it explains, to my satisfaction, this lengthy process of insertion. - Pompous

Nobody mentioned a specific time
In all seriousness, Justin Williams probably has the most goals against us as a former player - iroc4me2

You might be right but I think it’s best to buy him out of a deal can’t be done trade wise. Mac deserves to play, even as a average to below average player. Mac is an nhl player, not an 8th defenseman. He’s not a Dale Weise situation. But him out, send him packing. - SuperSchennBros
First, I don't want dead cap space. Not this year for next. A trade retaining salary gives us dead cal space this year. A buy out gives dead cap space both this year and next. While I Don't want to see him man the blue line for the Flyers this year, injuries happen and I would be ok having him still in the system for emergencies. |

It’s not about what you want. It’s about what management chooses to do and Fletcher isn’t Hextall. I doubt Mac sits as a 8th defenseman the entire 2019-2020 season. |

By the way
Yegor Zamula now has 10 goals and 56 points in 61 WHL games this year. Last year, he had 2 goals and 18 points in 69 WHL games.
For reference, Myers went from 2 goals and 8 points in 60 games to 17 goals and 45 points in 63 games when the Flyers signed him. - jmatchett383
crazy he went unsigned. so glad we signed him. I was at the rookie/prospects game this year on LI and he was the second best defender after Myers. |

would not be surprised to see a dman moved for that very reason but they will still lose a good forward. point being this wont be a PEB expansion draft - nastyflyergirl
You can always negotiate a deal to give up a pick instead. Losing a roster player isn't a definite. |

Right back at ya. Doesn't matter what you want, it's what Flyers management wants. I don't see them either buying him out or retaining salary. He has one year left on his contract. Last year they signed Folin as the 7th D. He played way too much.
Time will tell. He has zero trade value with out retaining salary and he could be HUGE here if we have significant injury issues. |

Carey Price is 29-22-5?
That’s not great in my opinion. |

I never said “First, I don’t want...” you did.
“I don’t see...”, what does this even mean? Can you see into the future? What you’re saying is invalid to me.
My guess is as good as anybody’s, including you, even though you have a funny way of wording your explanations.
Oh look, the future 8th defenseman is playing right now. |

Why would Montreal want Folin, Weal and Weise to upgrade their team? |

Well I don't see, is the equivalent of your "I doubt " where apparently you can see into the future. I'm looking forward to 6 home grown D including Morin, plus Gudas. One of the 7 will sit on occasion. I just think that AMacs best value is insurance rather than dump him and eat salary. You disagree, but that is no surprise. |
