Ok great...you all want to.pay Skinner 70m for what he does....or the last month DOESNT DO....

GREAT.

im done. He stopped doing his job....period.

One goal in 14. Build him a statue...

Im going for a run....

Make a lineup for us next year WITHOUT Skinner

That would be pretty scary,
unless the goal would be to TANK for
Lefreniere

And keep in mind,
that any UFA they might sign to replace Skinner will almost assuredly be OVERPAID as well

You’re on here ranting about not bringing back Skinner... fine...
let’s see an alternative plan from you that makes some sense

Homie,
Have u heard anything about Skinner lately?

I’m pretty concerned a deal hasn’t gotten done at this point
I’m wondering if he’s having second thoughts about signing on here long term

If we COULD get rid of 21, we would. We dont HAVE to overpay a guy who VANISHED when he was needed most.

I'm sick of the ROR "quit on his team" crap. I remember my first three tears on my job here in the late 80s. I LOVED it. I'm still here and now I effing hate it. I've lost my love for my job a long time ago, BUT I still try my ass off every day, just like Ryan O'Reilly did in his final year here. 24 goals last year ... his best goal output while here. He didn't quit - he played well and then said some words - some truth - people couldn't handle it, and then he was incorrectly run out of town.

Stupid, unnecessary trade. Everyone rags on Housley first, but it should be Botterill that gets canned first.

- kritter65

I agee, botts should've waited & probably would've gotten a better return. but he got a st louis blues fleece blanky autographed by armstrong himself. too bad, botts thought it was neil armstrong.

At least Botts isn’t just bending over and taking it in the a**. Hold strong on the negotiation but we obviously have no leverage. Skinner is the furthest thing from the problem on this team but I don’t want to overpay him. The same people complaining about not having Skinner would be the same ones 3 years from now saying Botts is an idiot for overpaying a sniper on the wrong side of 30. Botts has backed himself into a lose-lose situation here.

I've heard Skinner wants to stay, but you don't overpay. 5yr 36 million should be the range imo.

Maybe
But it sure stings right now when our biggest hole on the roster wouldn’t be an issue if we were able to work it all out & keep him

- jdfitz77

Absolutely. Berglund was supposed to bridge us to CM. Even prior to the ROR trade I was saying we need a solid 2C if we were going to do it.

No matter how one feels about the image he has crafted for himself, he was a solid contributor point wise they never made up for.

On the Athletic, Ryan Stimson I think, put up a great article that showed how much the Sabres relied on one line for scoring.

If ROR were here the second line would be better and scoring better balanced.

I think long term it’s better he’s not here, cap reasons mainly, but anyone saying losing those points didn’t hurt, would be lying.

We essentially traded ROR for a top 10 selection. Odds are if we kept ROR this year we would be picking most likely in the same range the Blues would be picking. So the question is, are we better long term with Thompson and the top 10 pick. Or with ROR and the pick the Blues player turns out to be ? I pick the former. With ROR we aren’t picking top 10, probbaly arent a playoff team either.

Pretty simple actually. Without ROR, no good. With ROR, mediocre. Our first rounder this year is dependant on our success.

ROR for Thompson, Sobotka, Top 10 pick and Blues 2nd rounder in 2021 looks good to me. Our first rounder with ROR and the Blues first rounder essentially cancels itself out.

I am beyond sick of the “they got a good draft pick by losing”

I realize short circuiting the rebuild by the previous GM got them to the point they are and there are no shortcuts but they need to start developing players and have a couple guys step up.

Right now, everyone on the Amerks only look like role players at the NHL level.
