What happened to the dude who used to post things like this:

"Hey guys, great win by the Flyers. Click here for my take on it and let's go Flyers!"

I mean, that dude sucked, but I kind of miss him.

When Jake and G slow down you would expect the younger kids to start to seriously step up as well. Not like those guys are gonna go from PPG to 30 points a year either.
- ClaudeFather

That's probably when the influx of Frost, Farabee, and others trickle in. Plus Patrick, Coots, Konecny will be around. Defense theoretically is set for awhile.

I don't comment much but I'm gonna throw my 2 cents in on the debate about who's a jerk, and who isn't from my limited experience:

Feanor: Kind of a jerk
MJL: Can see why people don't like him, but it seems like he just trolls, and does know his hockey
SuperSchennBros: Whiny
Glak18: Obnoxious Richard

I didn't realize there was a debate. Have you ever read a post that I've made commenting on you?

answered a question with a question, I like that...

I'll preface my answer with the following...

They Flyers make a trade or sign 1-2 FA's to fill holes they have, Frost and one other young player makes the jump next season to the NHL.

They contend the year after, once current kids get a year older and Frost and ? have a season under their belts

- wcorvette

Hextall seemed to have the right idea on this. Like the other poster said, G, in particular, will decline very slowly and other young players will increase slowly to take up the slack. It’s the sheer depth and that they play as a team that will make them contenders. Remember Hexy always talking about the pieces of the pie.

I don’t see the next G In the pipeline, yeah Frost could be but no clear G.

My guy tells me the youth will have to hit their stride in one of G’s last best seasons to win a cup

They could contend starting next season if the right moves are made. G has several years left in the tank. Frost will take a few years, but he is the most like G. However, the next group of prospects doesn’t have to have a G.

I think Giroux has 5 really good years left in him. Especially if they move him off of center. I think that's really important.

Yes and reduce his PK minutes. Although depending on the trades and acquisitions, the move to wing may not be 100% until season after next. Especially in the event of injuries, he might still be the best bandaid for a bit.

Even though the odds point to them missing the playoffs, there's still 20 possible points to be gained. Stranger things have happened! I hold out hope until they're officially eliminated.

I don’t think the move from center to wing is that Necessary. If Eric Staal, Patrice Bergeron and Anze Kopitar can all be effective centers as older players than Giroux in the NHL, there is no reason Giroux cannot be.

I think the most important player on the ice outside of goaltender is the center. I think our greatest strength on this team could be our strength down the middle. I felt that success in 2010 when this team featured Richards, Carter, Briere, Giroux and Betts. I think it can be felt now with Giroux, Couturier, Patrick and Laughton.

Not now...but in the long run, G may produce at a high level for longer at wing. I don’t see anything wrong with those 4 as centers next season. However, it will depend on who else is in the mix then. At some point, both G and Laughton might be moved to wing because they produce more offensively there.

All three are much bigger men than Giroux. I think a Giroux move to wing is imperative. He is too small and has always been too small to take the heavy minutes he takes. Especially as he gets older. I want to save as much wear and tear on him as possible.
