And for ffing Schaller, unbelievable.

It's okay , in Canucks world that should translate to a new healthy contract with full NTC

It was just a thought since there are a few in here that want a change instead of bringing back the same line up next season.

I don't see Van getting into the top 4 and having a player able to make the roster next season from the draft. Call me crazy that they don't win a lotto spot or finish last

Haven't really seen Pearson or Leivo for a full season.

- manvanfan

I think Hughes and Kappo are the only ones who could possibly do that. Podkolzin will probably start in the AHL.

Byram, Dach, Cozens, Krebs probably all back to Junior

Boldy, Turcotte, Zegras are all committed to UNI/COL

If we don't win top 3 lotto pick and miss out on Byram - any one of Dach, Cozens, Turcotte, Zegras would be a dynamite choice for Future Horvat Line. FHL

This was taken after his camel got third place in a beauty contest.

I thought Schaller had one of his best games against the Devils. 2 shots 2 hits in 7 minutes of hockey. One of his shots was a legit scoring chance from in close if I remember correctly. That's more than I remember Goldy doing
- manvanfan

Sorry, I forgot about the playoff push We need what Schaller brings to the table.

Scoring, not so much.

That's the one he's bringing to the picnic.
After lunch there will be rides for the children and Minivan.

I didn't say Schaller was going to change the game. I just said he sucked less than Goldy.

In the top 10? Seems like more of a mid to late first.

Like Vantel said, it doesn't look good for him. Do you think he'd be a better player on another team?

My biggest concern next year and years forward is RHD. Tanev has one more year and next year our best RHD is Stecher. If they don't address we will be left with extending Tanev.

It would not hurt one more year to pay attention to the D at the Draft

This.

Hughes, OJ, ZacMac, Lockwood.

If 2 make the Canucks.
That’s a win.
Drop a forward and a D.
Repeat.

The team will not be better necessarily in pts, but will slowly improve its players.

Patience.

- dbot

The waiting is the hardest part.

It is still kind of crazy that college players are seemingly able to make the jump to the NHL with little to no time in the AHL.

Curious to see what happens with Lockwood and Madden. Lockwood really looks to have gotten back on track after those shoulder injuries.

The dropping players up to this point has been the difficult part. We sucked so bad that giving up on fringe talent has been giving up on the limited talent we have. Hopefully with more depth in the org, it will be easier to move on from guys like Pouliot, to open up spots.

May be able to steal Korczak or Thomson or Simon Lundmark in the 2nd round. There are a few options to that are up near the 1st and 2nd round.

I agree we need D - but if we miss Byram bcus we're not in the top 4-5 then we have to turn attention to BPA - and thats a forward in the top 10, personally i don't like Broberg and Seider doesnt belong there.

Tanev gets us a year closer to Woo but we would need to acquire another RHD - I just don't think picking Seider in the top 10 is the right move. If only a few of our LHD could play the R side

I don't see why the team with the worst D in the league would not go after the best D in the draft? You can pick up a top 6 forward via trade or heaven forbid in UFA.

Leafs are going to be screwed with the cap why not offer Jake for Kapanen? Sign B Tanev to replace Jake.

Goldobin is 5th in team scoring. I get it his game has flaws. Play the young guys now, let them learn, not the bad UFA signing.

Some guys aren't goal scorers, I think this team needs playmakers mote than finishers at this point.

We need both. Preferably more from the back and lw’s

Here is a scouting report on Seider

Huge German defender with a strong two way game and a willingness to take the body whenever the opportunity occurs. Will get stronger and is still growing into his frame. Cemented his status as a possible first rounder after his performance in the B-pool of the World Junior U-20. A defender who can play big minutes shoulder the responsibilities in all phases, due to his maturity. Displays a strong under control game with strong hockey smarts. Not a burner or offenseman type, but makes the transition outlet pass and is comfortable carrying the mail out of his end. Has a strong accurate shot. At this juncture, he might not look like a first pair NHL defender offensively or a first pair PP QB, but there is plenty here to like, and good be a value sleeper taken mid-first round

Super fine line between developing young players and holding them accountable.
