What is this all about, I'm not sure I understand what "their culture" means? Like Canada, the United States is a huge country with many diverse areas.

Culturally I don't find the metro Phoenix area any different than Vancouver to be honest. Replace the Asian population for Mexican population. Other than the accents are different. There's so many transient people there and a lot of Canadians in Scottsdale.

Lol. Just joking.

My brother in law works in the US and I grind his gears about “becoming Americanized”.
Funny thing, his response is similar to yours. Even with the same hint of being offended by the accusation.
Interesting.

My brother and his family have lived there for years and are fully Americanized. My brother hates universal medicare and plans on becoming a US citizen.

Straight up Yay or Nay.

Alex Wennberg and Brandon Dubinsky

for

Brandon Sutter and Loui Eriksson. Utunen and Palmu.

- manvanfan

Dubinsky's contract is almost as bad as Loui's - just a year shorter - but his numbers are worse and he's been trending down quickly.

Wennberg is having a brutal year - 2 goals in 67 games is Gaunce level bad. He's a decent shutdown 4th C - BUT his contract is twice as long as Sutter's and 500K more per season. I wanna get rid of these type of players not bring in another.

Columbus are a better team than us so it's probably safe to assume they would suck even harder once they draw into our lineup.

I can't believe i'm saying this but i wouldn't do this trade and if I did Columbus would have to add

Just the worst. I've been here for 5, and espouse my Canadiana when I can. But, I also live in one of the most progressive cities down here, so there is that

That’s what I’m talking about. The biggest difference is his hate level has gone way up. My brother in law hates everything now and he used to be so mellow. Everything and everyone’s at fault. American anxiety skyrocketing.

Ha...I wasn’t offended, I was gonna add some emojis in there but I was working when I replied.

I often get that though, you’re gonna be “Americanized”, I honestly don’t know what that means? I’m guessing it means different things to different people. I love the United States, probably more so than Canada, but those are for my own personal reasons that affect me, obviously different for everyone else.

We do the exact same things in the US that we do in Canada, I live there because of the weather primarily. We shop for groceries at Frys or Albersons, my mobile is with T-Mobile instead of Telus or Bell, Cox communications instead of Shaw, In and Out burgers instead of McDonald’s etc. etc.

The roster is very much in transition, it takes time. Guys that were around last season, Hutton, Stecher, Horvat, Boeser, Goldy and even Virtanen have shown improvement this season over last. Not all players are going to thrive under every coach and system.

I'm not sold on the coaching staff, they are inexperienced but are gaining experience every game. This team isn't going for a SC this season or next probably. It seems very Oilers like to keep changing coaches every couple seasons.

And

Jim Benning asked the fans to just be patient!

I literally know hundreds of Americans and none of them are hateful people, they live for their families like we do. They definitely outwardly love their country more than we do. Inward, I don’t think so.

it’s the weather and cheap beer!

Last week before I came back to work we hung out with Greg Adams wife Stacy, they live in Scottsdale, her and my wife are friends, we kind of had this conversation. She’s originally a Prince George girl but her and Greg have lived there for nine years now, she became an American citizen.

Last 4 seasons
188 games 37 goals, 75 pts 30 years old
Vs
215 games 31 goals, 157 pts 24 years old

I think you must be confused, Wennberg is a hell of a lot more productive, despite having a very down year. He is also 6 years younger and put up 60 pts as a 22 year old.

Americans have the market cornered on fun. No other culture in the world has as much fun as Americans.
It’s the general laziness and gluttony of their culture that I find offensive.

Wennberg isn't a shutdown centre. He's a playmaker. https://twitter.com/harmandayal2?lang=en

I wouldn't use Wennberg as a center in Vancouver. I'd use him as Horvat's winger. His contract is longer and more than Sutter's but Sutter has never broken 40 and is 5 years older. Sutter can't stay healthy in Vancouver.

Dubinsky's numbers are worse but he used to be a center and is more physical than Eriksson. Better suited for 4th line and PK than Eriksson.

Just a thought since all 4 players could probably use a change of scenery.

One other reason would be the season he scored 59, if I remember correctly he was used as net front on the PP and had 23 points. Van's PP could use a different net front guy.

Torts has a way of under utilizing Swedish centres. Just look at Karlsson after he left Torts at 24 years old (same age as Wennberg) and how he blossomed.

I know my brother hates poor people and thinks that people with health problems only have themselves to blame. I haven't talked to him in years.

Oh yes, the blame game. The great America pastime.
One of my guilty pleasures is to read the comment sections on foxnews.com. It’s amazing that a culture that is so successful can produce such ignorance.

Personally, I have way more fun down there and I’m less sedentary than I am in Canada. I’m way more active because I’m outside all year long in AZ.

He does. I have a serious auto-immune disease that is passed on through genetics and he told my sister it was because of my hard way of living (partying too much) and that I had it coming. He is vehemently against medical marijuana, as well.

I think that was a FA interview. Maybe now that FA is letting JB chose, team will be better.
