Agreed, but how exactly does the team move on from Eriksson? Dude’s superglued to the Canaucks. - CubanBuffet
It really sounds like they are moving on from Loui
It will either be Utica or a cap team that needs to hit the floor minimum . I think his days are numbered. |

Send him to Utica, who in turn demote him to Kalamazoo.
This might be the only option, as it saves million in capspace, which is more than a buyout.
What a bad contract and bad hockey player. - Reubenkincade
I think it is very fair of the team to go up to him after he gets his bonus July 1 and tell him it hasn't worked out and if you want to ride the buses in Utica for the next three years you are entitled to do so but you may also want to retire ?

I think that the best they can do is keep him off the ice. Either healthy scratch or send him down, although I’d rather he not take someone’s ice in Utica, even if it’s a borderline probably never play in the nhl prospect.
The mystical cap floor team seems like a snipe hunt to me. Even if they exist I’m not sure Benning can take advantage. I’d love to eat those words though. |

Yup, those are the 2 options, I find it highly unlikely any team would be interested in him, even if we retain salary.
I hope they don't try to offer up an asset for dumping him, this team can't afford to give up assets for a move like that. |

He’s spot on, but if he plays Schaller again then he’s a hypocrite. Schaller brings nothing, at least Goldy might give you a nice offensive play or 2. Schaller sucks in all 3 zones.
Time to move on from guys like Goldy, Granlund, Schaller, Eriksson as NHL’ers.
I’d keep Goldy/Granlund as AHL vets and call-up players but that’s about it.
Hopefully fans have learned that “depth” really isn’t valuable when it’s just a bunch of fringe players. People were worried this pre-season that there weren’t enough roster spots and now Green is trying to figure out who sucks the least.
The early signs were there too, I remember a few of us were disappointed during the pre-season when none of the bubble players outside of Motte actually played decently during pre-season games.
This team is still full of scraps and injury prone players. - Nucker101

I am not sure if you have looked at Utica's roster lately but it is a dog's breakfast. I follow them every game and when I see the posted rosters I say WTF is he ?
My feelings is he will be in Utica or retired

Yeah sending him down saves a million in cap and opens up a spot on Canucks |

I don't see why the team with the worst D in the league would not go after the best D in the draft? You can pick up a top 6 forward via trade or heaven forbid in UFA.
Leafs are going to be screwed with the cap why not offer Jake for Kapanen? Sign B Tanev to replace Jake. - VANTEL
We're did that with OJ and you haven't stopped whining yet... |

I would tell ZackMac Dude if you want to be a regular NHL player you need to go out and hit people all the time
Bottom 6
Leivo Gaudette Roussel
Motte Beagle Zack
It still makes my cringe when I hear Benning say we would have made the playoffs with a healthy Sutter - VANTEL

He does. I have a serious auto-immune disease that is passed on through genetics and he told my sister it was because of my hard way of living (partying too much) and that I had it coming. He is vehemently against medical marijuana, as well. - Marwood
