Well we've robbed them of Toews and Dal Colle, so not totally unsurprising that they'd struggle a little. Wilde would go a long way towards replacing Toews on the back-end for them.

I don't know all the by laws of the AHL eligibility Chiefs, however would he be able to play in the AHL POs being He started in the Juniors and hasn't played any games at BP? I thought he wouldn't be able to because he's only 19 and started in Major Juniors?

If you know can you clarify?

How quickly you can make the jump to the AHL depends on where you're drafted from, not where you ultimately play your first post-draft season. 9 times out of 10 guys are already playing where they ultimately get drafted from, but Wilde's case is different since he was drafted out of the USNTDP rather than Saginaw.

CHL requires you to be 20 before you can make the jump to the AHL. So if he played for Saginaw in his draft year, he'd have to go back to the OHL next season. But, since he was playing in the USHL with the development team program, he's AHL-eligible.

I don't know all the agreements with other feeder/international leagues, but guys drafted out of Europe are all in the same boat (save for the KHL where there's no transfer agreement). William Nylander was able to play for the Marlies right away because he was drafted from the Swedish league.

So Dobson will be forced to go back to the Q next season while Wilde can, if the Isles think he's ready, play in the AHL. Wahlstrom and Iskhakov would also technically be AHL-eligible, although I can't imagine they don't both return to their respective colleges.

Wouldn't he have to have been on the B Port roster at a specific date? Didn't they return Toews and Dal Colle to them on paper around the time of the trade deadline so they'd be eligible?

I think you're right, Pete. 7, in his own special way, asked two questions simultaneously: 1. When can you play in the AHL? and 2. When can you play in the AHL playoffs? I think Chiefs correctly answered the first question. I don't think he dealt with the 2nd question.

That’s what I thought but I had no solid knowledge of the date etc.

Chiefs is up on all that useless nonsense
