Pens lost in regulation, too.
Barry in his post-game and Shannon coming up with as many hockey cliches as they could. |

They got a lot a shots on goal most right into Bernier’s chest but he was good when he needed to be. I thought they weren’t skating for a lot of the game there were far too many times with the wings in their zone that they aggravatingly just stood and watched. They didn’t look like a team playing for the division lead and didn’t have the effort they had the last couple of games. Have to beat teams like these down the stretch not enough desperation today imo. Hopefully they take Minny tomorrow. |

I’ll also say when cizikas isn’t in the lineup this team doesn’t look the same. They don’t seem to hit as much and they can’t seem to generate as much of a forecheck. Guy definitely is an extremely important part of this team. |

No question. Cizikas is probably the best 2-way forward on the team. |

The guy is a ball of energy. I don't think I've ever seen him make a lazy play. |

I would say he's definitely our best two way forward. Also, I don't think they were terrible today I just feel there were stretches where they just stopped skating. Cizikas definitely drives this team forward along with the energy level at times when need be IMO. I think today could've been one of those days where it was exactly what we needed. |

I thought they looked pretty good. 🤔
Then again perhaps they only look good compared to the Oilers. Might be I need a better comparable. |

Again, not saying they looked terrible but they didn’t seem to have that extra gear that they have when they’re successfull. There were some times throughout the game where they stopped skating all together imo. |

It’s when that CCM line isn’t together. That line just isn’t the same. |

I agree with this. When one of them is missing that line is just not the same. I think Martin or Clutterbuck individually don’t do a heck of a lot. Without cizikas that line is very meh. Together they’ve honestly been the most consistent line all season. It’s like they’re voltron or something. |

Against one of the worst teams in the league they only scored 1 goal. Most of the shots were in the goalie’s chest, like you said. Any of the high danger scoring chances they had, the shots weren’t on net. It was a disappointing game.
I know this is all gravy compared to what we expected at the beginning of the season but they had done so well. This was a step backwards when they could have stepped up. |
