What is incorrect about my post? No regard for feelings? - CanuckDon
Any player can wind up with a concussion. It doesn't mean he's suddenly not an elite goaltending prospect. It would be incredibly shortsighted to even consider trading him right now |

I agree somewhat, marky is 29 and finally found it, it appears. He could be great for 5 to 8 years. - Bettmanhatesus
That’s my thinking as well. He is still young enough that he can lead this team when we are relevenat |

Nucks need to score 31 goals in the next 12 games to win our bet.
Its going to be tight but I have a good feeling. I wasn't sure what to go with for an profile pick but you've given me some good ideas.

Don't we normally freak out that Van never trades players when their value is at its highest? This would be a good chance to do so.
Can possibly avoid making the same mistake twice and trade Markstrom (Luongo) and not Demko (Schneider) |

What’s Markstrom worth? A 2nd? Why trade him and gamble on an unproven Demko. Our roster is going to be even younger next year and I’d like them to have competent goaltending |

Interesting to think about for sure. We will need Marky to be the starter next year obviously but with an expiring contract it could make things dicey. Maybe extend him and trade him next offseason if Demko is playing well enough.
If Marky can play next year like he's been playing this one he could be worth a fair amount |

As I told Nighthawk I doubt Briesbois Schaller will be on the roster next year and Spooner probably not either?
The 4.68 in bonuses can be paid with this years cap space , why would they want to carry it over when they have the money sitting there this year?

I'm very much looking forward to the return of Tryamkin.
- belcherbd
Do you think the Canucks traded Gudbranson with the knowledge that there was a strong possibility that Tryamkin might be returning next season?
He was a decent penalty killer, able to get into passing lanes and interrupt play with that long stick and reach. I also enjoyed watching him casually push opponents to the ice with ease. It was a rare treat to have the dominant physical force on the Canucks' side for change.
But if he does attempt to return to the NHL, I wonder if he's still effective in the new style of game, or if all these speedy little skilled forwards will be too difficult for him to contain? Especially if he still hasn't yet bought into working on his conditioning and skills training to improve in the off-season.
Wouldn't even be able to trade him for another asset if that's the case. |

college free agents = don't have to give up assets + don't have to negotiate contract terms (aside from bonuses).
these are the types of free agents jimmy boy should be limited to. - RealityChecker
LOL poor Simple Jim.
I agree that you can find value in undrafted free agents but the chances of finding a gem are rare.
If JB did find a bozak... great... our pro scouting still sucks and our drafting record has only improved slightly after the first round. To me, the end result is the same, mediocrity.

I think the Canucks moved Gudbranson because he was no good.
I dont think Tryamkin will return next year but I could see the following whe n he contract is up.
I don't think the "new "speedy NHL style is new, it's been that way for a while and was like that when he was here before. |
