On Raffl...absolutely resign him. His value (things he does on the ice vs cap hit) seems quite high to me. - wolfhounds

Cmon Button really, spins around and smashes him in the head pretty deliberate in my mind. I usually agree with him but not in this case. I am not sure I heard his take on the Jake incident if he had one at all. |

game v Caps made me think of Lindblom V Oshie, who would you take?
Lindblom will probably never have some of the upside of Oshie but I could see Lindblom contributing as much to the Flyers in their top 6, just differently. Looking at the CAP and the future, I would take Lindblom and that is who and where our Flyers are today. They are getting better, just not there yet... |

I totally see not wanting to feed him to the wolves, but I kinda feel like Carter Hart is the type of player who not only welcomes the challenge, but might even relish the opportunity. He’s probably champing at the bit.
I don’t think a bad outing will crush him. On the other hand, if he has a great game, well that might be huge for their slim post season hopes.

I ask myself for positives and negatives. No one in here can tell me that right now... this moment in time that Hart is better then Elliot. They are about equal. Hart's positioning is superior and so is his lateral movements, but Elliot makes up for that with experience. Skill wise its a push. My only worry is Hart was pulled against Washington, pulled against Montreal, and now we are facing a team totally capable of getting another goalie pulled again... If its Hart, that is 3 games in a row, and while that't not the end of the world, its still a bit worrisome. |

You think they will re sign Raffl? I think I’m in favor of it. I like him, and a 1-2 year deal would be good. Raffl, Laughts and Hartman as mentioned should be a really decent 4th line.
They will need someone to center a 3rd line, to get G back to LW. I think they will by trade or UFA get a C this summer. - Marc D
I really like Raffl, but I wait till July 1 and see where the team is. I tell him before he signs anything to check with us. We have some players that need to make the move up, and hopefully we will be signing a guy or 2 in FA. |

I think an argument could be made that he's been better than Elliott this season, but their numbers are pretty similar. |

Considering Elliot played pretty well against Washington after relieving Hart last time I would roll with him. Yes he has started a lot lately but he is the hot hand. I would give Hart Toronto and Elliot Pittsburgh. If we don't take 5 of the 6 points then I alternate Hart and Talbot the rest of the way. We do need to give Talbot a few games to see if we want to resign him, because if he really stinks it up maybe we consider bringing Elliot back for 1 more season.... depending on what his injuries were and how comfortable the Doctors are that they wont crop up again. - youarewrong
Elliot got lit like a candle last Wednesday against Washington lol

In here, I will tell you that Hart is better than Elliott. Right now, right here. I'll tell you that at the rink or wherever you would like me to. Trying not to sound like Dr. Seuss. |

No I said Hart is more skilled but Elliots experience makes them about equal. |

I would vehemently disagree with that. It's not close.

Personally I would like to sign him. He would be a great 2nd line center and can become a winger when Patrick and Frost are ready for 2 and 3. Just my opinion. Duchene is not coming in here and ruining the team despite what some people think. |

Somebody said last time he will find a different team what will offer him a better contract compared what Flyers should offer.
But pretty sure he would accept any 2 year offer from Flyers above 1.5 per year |

I hope they don't get smoked tonight - corduroy
Me too.
And I pretty much thought they'd get smoked last week and they did, but I'm strangely optimistic for tonight, even with Jake out.
I think they win a close one, 3 -2. They really need the game way more than the Caps do. |

For me, just my opinion i prefer:
Hayes
Panarin
Skinner
Before Duchene if we are spending money.
I would really like Hayes so you can get Giroux back to wing and then go down the middle with Couturier, Patrick and Hayes. |

Agree, I like a Raffl but I think they let him walk. At 30+ on the 4th line he is blocking the chance for a young player to show his upside. Maybe as a 13th forward if he can’t get a better contract elsewhere. |

I wouldn't say that Washington is in a dog fight for the division title right now as well.

Pick your poison. Home against the Caps or the road against Toronto? Neither one is easy.
Hopefully the 5-0 opening thrashing they took last time gets their head out of their as$ tonight. Every game has a game 6 or 7 feel to it. They can probably only withstand 2 maybe 3 regulation losses. |

Yeah Toronto is due. And given the last visit to Toronto, that game will probably be more cringe worthy than tonight. |
