First off, welcome Ben, great to have a regular writer again!

Secondly, there are tons of examples of players who make big bucks with professional sports teams and do not live up to those dollar expectations simply because although they have ability, they don't play with heart. And these two Sabres chumps are really going to whine about the guy who was dealing with complex and compounded personal issues who was A) brave enough to open up about it to the world (while he was still actively playing no less!) and B) strong enough to seek help, get himself better, and keep himself better day-to-day!?!? Get the F outta hear with that noise. That being said, I'm sure this is not the sentiment of the entire Sabres fan base. These two are more like the "snake thrower" and the "jersey thrower" of the Buffalo fans. Even if he wasn't at the very top of the stats column, Robin Lehner would still be a hero in my book!

Screw Robin Lehner! I am happy to see him back healthy but I never liked his play. His numbers aren’t that great considering the islanders allow the least amount of goals against and it is not because of Lehner. That is because of the team system, just like the devils did years ago with the trap system. Islanders overall are overachieving with great coaching. If you want to talk about an award, it would be for Barry Trotz for recognizing the only system his team can play to win. Islanders can make it interesting in the playoffs but no where near championship. Original point - Lehner is not that good and not a smart goalie.......at all. Except the time he took millions of dollars from the sabres and never deserving it

We try to set the bar low big game again tonight and against a team we want out of the wildcard spot if the isles slip a bit here. Hoping their d game is back where it needs to be and maybe just maybe the offense can get out of their funk. Is it me or is Montreal one of those teams that always has the ises number?
