"At one point in the first period, the Penguins were outshooting the Bruins 13-3. The Penguins led after the first, 2-0."

What about that line?

Ya gotta think this is his last year...its gotta be. They cant resign him again.....can they?
- MattStrat

I think it'll depend on Cullen. Seems like he's the kinda guy that if he wants to come back, JR will make it happen. Mackey did a thing today on how Cullen was definitely retiring after this year, but we've all seen that before. I'll believe it when I see it.

Listen I really appreciate what Cullen has brought to our team but I can’t imagine us bringing him back next year as a regular player. No way. He would be a nice assistant coach though.

Pretty much. I just read the article and he pretty much gave an accurate concise rundown of what happened.

Exactly, that Sid to Jake goal to make it 3-1 and that slick breakaway move by McCann were high end goals.. the best goalies in the world let those in most of the time. Sometimes you get lucky and make the save. Halak allowing goals he should have had, was not part of the narrative whatsoever. That's all.

Sorry I re-read my post and it sounded ignorant with the "Get it now?" at the end. Didn't mean it to come off that way.

I shouldn't even care, it just drives me crazy when everytime someones team loses they blame it on things instead of just admitting the other team was better that game. Those type of people are so bias that they think their team is untouchable and way better than anyone else, and if they lose it's not because another team is at their level.

Ryan Wilson drives me mad with his over the top reliance on advanced stats, but I will give him credit where it is due. If the Pens get outplayed, he gives credit to the opponent. Doesn't just ramble on about how the Pens had an off night.

And in response to the shots being 13-3 and score 2-0 comment.. he still didn't say that the Pens were the better team, just mentioned the stats. He probably thinks that all 13 shots were wrist shots from the point, and the Bruins were holding the Pens to the outside, where all 3 Bruins shots were tic tac toe passing plays LOL.

So Halak should have saved the McCann breakaway and Crosby/Guentzel roofer? Routine saves right?

I'll agree that most of the blog was decent, but that one paragraph destroyed all credibility.

He also said "another breakdown by the Bruins led to the puck in the back of their net" which implies there were multiple breakdowns. He also said their puck management was poor.

None of these things were wrong. The Bruins played a good game from the 2nd period on and the third was really a 50/50 game. When two good teams play each other it becomes a game of mistakes and the Pens capitalized while the Bruins couldn't.

Again, I said most of the blog makes sense.

Again, the McCann and Guentzel goals were normally routine saves that Halak should have had. Yes or No?

No what was said was that he didn’t skate/make the trip due to illness and that it wasn’t a set back. I think I may have inferred that Sullivan going out of his way to say Letang is sick and not experiencing any set backs meant he was right around the corner.

Illness probably prevented him from going through the motions of getting on ice with team for full practice and getting back to contact.

I'm not whining. I just pointed out a fact. If you think those are routine saves, you must be one heck of a goaltender. All the power to you man.

Guentzel goal had an 11.9% chance of going in.

McCann goal had a 13.4% chance of going in.
