If they're cutting Shady, I guess.

I've never seen RB as a position you need to invest in heavily. Too many SB winning teams that had average running backs for me to think that you need an elite RB to win. Better to invest that money elsewhere.

Agree he's a good player. Just not worth the juice IMO.

Totally okay with letting Shady go. A double digit million $ contract for Bell, to me, is doubling down on the same mistake.

League has changed. That WAS the recipe. Now guys like Shane Vereen, Willie Parker, Brandon Jacobs, James Starks and Darren Sproles all have rings (average to above average RBs).

I believe the last SB MVP RB was Terrell Davis in 99. Fact of the matter is that you need a good passing game or a great defense. A good running back can help, but the ability to pass/defend the pass is much more important and worth saving for.

Edit: 98' for Davis. Emmitt got his in 94'. All WR, LB, QBs and a S since.
