That would be outstanding!
And maybe Nylander finds his game during the call up

I did it 3 more times and got 10, 11 and 10.

For anyone watching the Leafs get bent over tonight. We might need to tank next year too.

After two weeks I finally found Matthews. Deflected a puck into his own net. 4-0 Lightning.

Ya, the boys need to drive this failure a but harder to improve our chances, lol.
Actually, I wish they would collectively get their heads out of their asses and start playing well.
I'm getting really sick of the losing and looking like a junior a team.

Don’t understand the Gore signing but apart from that the Bills did good today. I like the Kroft and Morse signings for you guys.
- Pegullaville

Kroft is an average TE we paid WAY too much for

Morse was a great signing
Needed a legit center to anchor the line

Gore was “meh”
But he’s cheap & it’s only for a year

the db from houston could be a home run
- homiedclown

Kevin Johnson and not the Phoenix Suns point guard. U remember him on Hard Knocks with the Texans? Young buck laid the lumber. I read that is part of the problem though. I like him. Hope he can stay healthy.

Im a little bummed it is Morse and not Paradis, but Morse is a couple years younger.

Too bad there wasn’t a whale worthy of using some cap space on. Maybe that comes next off season.

Unless we pick top2,
we likely aren’t getting any help next year from the draft

So going by your logic,
you’d definitely want us to tank again next year

Kroft is a very good blocker though

Put up ok numbers in 2017 when TE was hurt

Upgrade over clay IMO

Not necessarily. Next year should hopefully be the year we get bent over in the first round of the playoffs meaning 2020-2021 is our year to do damage so even a top 10 pick should be in the lineup by that time anyways. Although yea who wouldn’t want Hughes/Kakko.

Clay’s first 3 years with us we all better than Kroft’s 42 catches for 404 yards
Clay was also a good blocker
Not an upgrade whatsoever
It’s lateral, at best

Bottom line:
It’s freaking stupid to pay an AVERAGE receiving TE over 6mil a year

It’s the Clay signing all over again

either way. going to be tough to compete with Tampy/Toronto in the near and long term. best way is for the other teams to tank, primarily OTT/DET/BUF. BOS will be good but not good enough to make it to the top and FLA is never really a threat.

Exactly. Free agency is buyer beware and trades for elite talent are hard to come by. People roasted Botterill for doing nothing to improve the roster when we were firmly in a playoff spot but imo the guy did the best thing for this franchise in getting us a top 10 pick. Nobody will remember losing to the lightning in 5 games 7 years from now but they will cheer for another stud player we’ll be adding this year.

Clay was 8.5m/year when the cap was a lot lower and our space tighter. $6m seems high to me too, but, makes no difference to our cap. We'll still sign or draft another TE as we still have only 2 on the roster

Should of drafted chiqourin like we were supposed to in the first place Jost, Sergachev, McAvoy, Kunin were all drafted after Nylander and are making an impact. M. Tkchuck and Keller went in the two picks before nylander. Hey for all we know Nylander can figure it or at least be moved in a trade to get us a top 6 forward it will still be all well.

I think this years top 10 is much better then 2016. Hughes/Kakko could even be better then Matthews/Laine making it a clean sweep

My point is that we are overpaying for a TE who isn’t any better than Clay
And if he is, it’s not significant
Would be very surprising if he did much in the passing game for us

Would’ve made more sense to just draft a TE and use that 6mil+ towards a tackle or a pass rusher
