He was great for Switzerland in the WJC.

I wonder if JC is going to try and do some line matchups, Kampf vs. Tavares line and Toews vs. Matthews line?

Good news. Before going to the WJC, Kurashev was in the top-10 scoring in the QMJHL. He then went on to play very well for Switzerland. However, his scoring dropped off after the WJC and I don't know if there was an injury or what? His scoring has picked up a little recently but still not at the clip he was scoring the first half of the season.

I wish more posters thought this way. I want to see effort and playing the right way rather than judging a player purely on production. I found it sad that a number of Hawk fans judged Toews solely on goals and assists and not on his full game. I want to see Perlini score but I really want to see him doing all the right things with and without the puck and trying new challenges like penalty killing. If he plays right and plays hard his points will come.

Yep. The way he can skate and drive past defenders is really something. Not unlike Saad in that respect although I dare say he may have a better shot than Saad. At some point I would love to see Toews have those two power forwards on his wings.

I like Perlini's speed with Strome and ADB, neither of which are known for their skating speed, he can stretch the ice, which compliments the patience and playmaking ability of Strome, and opens up the ice for ADB to snipe.

Wonder if after Quebec is out of the playoffs if he goes to Rockford?

With 13 games remaining, and based on the last 5 games, Perlini should score 15 -16 more goals.
- StutzBlackhawk

Hopefully not. I want him to play just well enough to get a new contract -a contract that proves to be a bargain before it is completed. But I am really happy for Perlini. I liked what he was showing even when he was not producing. His size and speed is a nice addition to this team.

Kurashev inked his deal ... didn't he say that he was going to wait? I thought SCH had an article about that. Anyways, it's still nice he signed with a great WJC showing. Does anybody expect more signings, if so, who?

I think we are at 48 right now, 2 more open spots before our UFA's expire.

Kurashev was a great pick and a true centre that the Hawks need in the system.

He'll be 20 in this October and is 6'0 / 192 lbs, he's going to be a nice addition to Rockford for 2019-20.

I agree that Perlini has been a good match with Cat/Strome and I'm suggesting I want JC to change that right now - only that the thought of Toews having two fast power forwards that drive the net is intriguing.

What's been great about the ADB/Strome combo has been that they have been great with Kane, Kahun, and Perlini so far.

He is my early pick to make the Hawks as a surprise addition out of camp next year.

Any timetable on Caggiula? Did the league even review the hit Rakell put on him? I guess they are too busy wasting time looking at the Eastern conference bullcrap.

Great to see Kurashev being signed to an ELC. He will add some talent to Rockford next year and hopefully develop as a pro over the next few years. Could be a dark horse candidate in training camp but would be best to spend some time on the farm first.

And my point is if they get 82 out of a possible 164 points that is a .500 team.

Personally I would go 2 points for a win. 1 point for a tie in regulation or OT. No points for a shootout win. Do the shootout for the fan's enjoyment. Use shoot out wins as one of the tie breaking factors for draft slots, playoff rankings, etc...

- -Doh-

You can’t stay with them getting 164 out of 164 points. They earned 82 out of 246 points.

Another way of looking at you logic is a team that goes 82-0-0 with all wins in SO or OT is at 1.000 and their opponents are 0-0-82 with 82 points for .500. That’s 1.59 points; you can’t have more than 100 percent. So they have to be .667 and .333 point percentages.

I would prefer all game to be 3 points. 3 for regulation win and then split 2 for OT or SO win and 1 for OT or SO loss. Don’t agree with your suggestion of 0 points for a SO....think that makes a mockery of the game and eliminates competition from the equation.

Some say the shootout already is mockery... I say send two skaters to center ice, drop gloves and go. Old time hockey eh?

ADB's speed and skating are very under-rated. In fact his supposed weak skating was why he was available in the 2nd round for us.
He has either really improved this part of his game or the assessment was inaccurate.

Haven't heard a peep, and that's what's wrong. Do they or do they not, have enough personnel to make a judgment within a mandated time frame? Simply specify the period of time before rendering the decision. NHL is so backwoods on this, it is laughable.

There will be a few new forwards at Rockford next year in addition to Kurashev namely Hagel, Entwhistle and Reese Johnson. Hopefully one or two could make it to the Hawks in 20-21.

Last night there was a discussion of Perlini possibly becoming another Frolik, I think Kahun is a better comparison to Frolik.
- LAHawk
ty. Not as stocky as Frolik but they have a lot of similarities. Frolik isn't very tall but he very strong.
