The penalty shot goal vs DET in '13 might have swung the series.

Just adding to your point...I have been saying for a while it is a top 9 league, not a top 6. Clearly JC wants to outskate and overwhelm opponents, with 3 lines that can score, he wants to role them indiscriminately. Try matching up if you are an opponent.

He actually wants all 4 lines to do this like Tampa. Tampa has over 30 goals from 4th line this season.

- TrueGrit

Been a top 9 league since 2010. He wants the 4th line to be his shutdown line and flip the ice line. He wants to free Toews up from some of the defensive load. Even said it in an interview.

BTW. The bottom 6 and top 9 do intersect.

Can we outlaw the soft back hand pass in our zone (especially when they are often right into slot). That would greatly improve team D.

There is now one forward coming back on the back check (which is an improvement). But I think the 2nd and 3rd forwards are on a coffee break. Because it is often 4 v 3 or even 5 v 3 in our zone. You want to improve team d, lets get all 5 players back checking.

Watch Sikura closely. On the forecheck he gets in position to put a body on some and pulls up one stride every time. He is a little guy I get it. But he can at least put a body and them and slow them down leaving their zone. Take one more stride and engage the opponent.

That is Q's system, His teams were soft. He had players that weren't soft, but his system is/was.

Not that early. At 8 one of these 4 should be around..Turcotte, Boldy, Zegras or Byram.

One of those 4 is the guy to get. Broberg is a reach at 8. So is Newhook especially he plays in a league a tier below junior A

- Elbows15

Zegras or Turcotte need centerman depth in the system another young d man would not be bad at all in byram. Center to me needs to be address beyond Barrett but with style of play and edge to his might be better as a wing but we ll see.

He is coming on game by game. He is making the little plays. And he may not be big but he goes to the net. A lot.

Perlini as Coach said has the package. Size, speed, shot.
Hopefully he's finally finding the shift/out mental desire.
If he does....LOOK OUT.
