Put me down for the day Sbisa signed his extension

I like the new core and I like the potential of other prospects. I'll stick with keeping JB for at least another year before they find someone else and return to the extremely sad state this team was in when JB took over.

I was thinking that too. Neither side has shown much interest in the Lockwood situation.

I think if he wants to turn pro they’ll sign him to a contract. Even if he never gets past the AHL, still a worthwhile gamble.

I have liked some of the things Benning did and dislike more than some of the things he has done.

I have always thought he was in over his head . He didn't know how to make big moves or make tough decisions.

I definitely don't see him as an out of the box thinker which the game is trending to.

Well said, I agree

I’ll take GM who can make better NHL moves + Brackett over Benning + Brackett

I don't want Hughes to burn a season coming up for more than 9 games...

It is actually good for the team because of bargaining rights when they become RFAs.

Bracket has been with the organization since the 08-09 season and has very few results for it
He has brought several American kids into the system, since his start with this organization, yet 0 have had any impact on this team.
Brackett has only started to look decent, once he was under the guidance and direction of Benning.
I believe many here, overvalue Brackett.

Vegas currently have approx. -3 million in cap space for next season with only Nosek and Subban as RFAs...ohhhh and William Karlsson....ohhhh and 3-4 other rosters spots to fill/sign. This is also nuts.

Agree, once the organization had a better plan on scouting requirements things have been better. Could be a little of column a and a little of column b.

Funny how their pro scouts don’t seem to be getting the message...

He was an amateur scout for the first 7 years, then got promoted in summer 2015 to Director of AS. I believe he was responsible for mainly US and QMJ - so he would have been high on Boeser, Gaudette, Demko - maybe thats what got him his promotion.

I doubt Brackett was scouting CCHL to find Hutton playing for Nepean Raiders, Boeser was a 1st round pick that was a no-brainer, Demko and Gaudette, the jury is still out on.

or OS Karlsson - I would imagine he'd enjoying playing on Petey or Bo's wing

Yet somehow the Canucks NCAA/HS picks have been much better than CHL and he got promoted.

Plus Benning hasn’t gotten along with many leftovers from the MG regime, Brackett not only stuck around but got promoted.

Safe to say he’s doing good work.

Does scouting take a step back if you promote Brackett to Weisbrod job?

You're right I thought Hutton came from the states, my bad. Regardless, my point was as an amateur scout he'd only have a certain amount of say prior to 2015 in draft picks so Boeser as a late 1st wasn't a no brainer and Gaudette and Demko are making more than zero impact. As Director of AS he's chosen Lockwood, Hughes, Madden and Rathbone - jury's out on 3/4 - we're about to get a glimpse of the important one real soon.

Sorry I offended you, but I don't need to evaluate something I know sucks.
Since Brackett has been here , not including his Q picks.
09 Schroeder Cannata
10 McNally
11 Labate
12 Beattie
13 Liberati
14 Demko
15 Boeser Gaudette
16 Lockwood
17 Rathbone
18 Hughes Madden

Again, I stand by my opinion, that Brackett has shown improvement under the guidance and direction of Benning.

@Nucker

A quick check to see who from the CHL that JB and JB has missed from the CHL outside of the first round. Pretty much Anthony Cirelli, Mathieu Joseph, Brayden Point and Kevin LeBanc.

Three of those players drafted by TB.

Boeser was a no brainer now?! I’m all for giving benning much more credit, bit that is bananas
