You had to have actually read this article... At that time, IE before July 1 2015...the Kessel Day. He is staing that the Roster is underachieving on the largest scale! At the time, the two best players in the world...1 Championship in 10 years.

He is just saying that something NEEDED to happen. Crosby, no. Letang, wont get anything useful. Fleury, #1 goalie, no. Malkin was the only thing of value we had, that would fetch serious return.

If you wanted real change via trade this was the onyl logical way to go.

Its also worth nothing that in this article, MM says something that this you and thread cries out daily...

He claimed Malkin was a cancer in the locker room, sulks and plays a game not suitable for winning. It was trash, just like his other articles.

Also, ignoring the fact that he wanted to get younger by trading the 2nd best player on the team who was in his 20's at the time it was written is obtuse at best.

I hope Blueger sticks with Malkin and Kessel. Good hockey IQ, just like Simon.

Soooo Jackets and Isles tonight...who do we want to win/lose? haha...I guess the main thing is that its not a 3 point game.
- MattStrat

Jackets before OT for sure! Finishing 2nd in the division and getting home ice is easily possible. With the way the pens are playing recently Im not looking to hope for everyone to lose and limp into playoffs anyways. A pens win tomorrow night and they are only 4 points back on the caps and would hold the tie breaker for 1st. That would be a stretch to win the division but it would tighten right up with a regulation W tomorrow.

I'm just trying to enjoy what I'm seeing from Gudbranson because I feel like it has to come to an end soon lol Yes, he's riding a 103 PDO, so something he will regress a bit, but how much?
- Rinosaur

I feel like he is what he is here. Especially when Tanger comes back and he plays less time.

If PDO regresses but the possession stats don't then I think he'll be fine. Once Letang is back you'd think his matchups would improve.

Don't think so, but his line was pretty dominant and I think they wanted to keep it together.

According to PHN, in five minutes together, Blueger-Malkin-Kessel controlled shot attempts 11-2. Since Boston was trying to tie the game, that's real impressive and deserves another look.

Absolutely, give Blugs a shot there. Problem is that basically makes ZAR irrelevant because he's plays like crap in the bottom 6. It's like he changes his mentality instead of just playing.

The fourth line was looking solid at the beginning, after ZAR got injured that basically got rid of that line.

Nah I think he plays the same way he’s just not playing with good hockey players when he’s playing with Cullen and Wilson. Those dudes are trash, especially compared to Geno and Kessel.

I'd love Blugs on the 2nd but will resign to the fact he won't stay because like others have said Simon doesn't fit anywhere else...I just hope/pray/plead for Sully to keep McCann on the 1st...dude is electric up there!

Also with Bjugstad/Horny finding some chemistry and Cullen/Wilson being decent together we have our duos on all 4 lines and then Rust, McCann, ZAR, Simon and Blueger fill in those spots.

Yeah I thought of that, maybe try him with Bjugstad/Horny pair?

I just think it depends on if you can alter your expectations with him. I thought he has played well with Geno and Phil but dropping down I can understand why his production will drop too but I don’t see Bjugstad and Horny doing much damage with ZAR either. They don’t really have a finisher on that line.
