The nice thing about that trade is it gave them 2 options.

If it keeps working out, JR got two young, former first rounders with term for two expiring contracts, a 2nd, and two 4ths. Could go up there as one of his best, underrated moves.

They are playing so well at even strength, it’s unfortunate that they are so lost on the powerplay right now. Guys are so out of wack, just passing and lugging around the perimeter.

If Gudbranson is still playing well next season I’ll call it a good trade.

The nice thing about that trade is it gave them 2 options.

It's a very good trade. Everything is just overshadowed by the JJ signing this year and the Gudbranson trade.

The Gudbranson trade IMO will never be a good trade just because of the financial portion, but if Gudbranson continues to play like he is it's definitely not a bad trade.

Most of GMJRs trades have had some risk. The Panther's one so far has been better than I had hoped, mainly because I wasn't SURE we got a 3C and if Bjugstad-Kessel isn't that they didn't really need another high priced RW.

I agree, even at it's best that's a big salary for what Gudbranson offers. He's done nothing but play well for us so far though. Think he should stay with Pettersson so he has a partner who can skate so nervous how everything shakes out when Maatta comes back. (I'd bench JJ, but don't see it happening).
