Good post, and I understand it's frustrating for players with talent like Eichel, McDavid and Matthews to be run continuously. At the end of the day, as a team captain and an elite player, he should be setting an example, both on and off the ice, not crawling in the gutter. The first comment should have been "I hope he's ok" - but it wasn't. Actually Sabres playoff chances are really slim at this point, the team is better off the longer suspension he gets in terms of draft order.

You are right, Eichel should set an example. The majority of us Sabre fans do not want to tank. We would like to see our team win as many games as possible. Unfortunately, like yesterday, the Sabres players seem to think differently.

Sabres are in reasonable shape. They have their top draft picks, Dahlin will be a stud, Eichel is excellent, they should be resigning Skinner, Montour was a good pick up. Goaltending needs improvement, but they should be a playoff team soon. If the GM can find a way to unload Okposo he really should try.

No Kidding, maybe preparing for some size vs. the Bruins at some point. Not sure if Marchment at LW doesn't make more sense. Hard to see Korshkov as anything but a fourth liner on the Leafs.

THey should make the playoffs next season.

I understand what you are saying. The Avalanche were taking runs at him and the Sabres all game without any calls. I do not condone hits to the head at all but Eichel had enough. Just wish the hit was lower and not to the head.

I've never bought into this mentality. Having good players doesn't make you a good team. The Oilers have the best player in the game and are still shart. Every team, except maybe Islanders and Coyotes ..Sens now too, have several high end talents. The league doesnt exactly work off of on paper talents.

To be honest....looking at the first hit by Zadorov on Eichel...to me every hit after, dirty or not, is on him...Zadorov. That was dirty AF.

I like that the Sabres went after Zadorov after the hit and then gave the Avalanche a taste of their own medicine for the rest of the game.

If the goons are gone, a team needs to give payback. One of my issues with the Leafs...not that they need goons but they could (frank)ing hit once and a while and a few payback hits after or throughout the rest of the game would be welcomed by me.
